Pokemon World Championships to be held at Anaheim in 2025 and San Francisco in 2026
As a seasoned gamer with years of battling and trading under my belt, I must say, the upcoming Pokemon World Championships have me absolutely buzzing! The California leg has been a long-awaited dream for many of us West Coast trainers, and to have it happening in not one but two iconic cities like Anaheim and San Francisco is simply mind-blowing.
The upcoming editions of the Pokémon World Championships are set to be colorful, as the venues for these events have been revealed. In 2025, the Pokémon World Championships will take place in Anaheim, followed by San Francisco in 2026.
The closing ceremony of the Pokemon World Championships had many announcements to share
Following the 2024 Pokémon World Championships held in Honolulu, Mr. Tsunekazu Ishihara, President & CEO of The Pokémon Company, disclosed several thrilling developments during the final event. According to his announcement, the dates and venues for the upcoming two Pokémon World Championships have been decided.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share some upcoming events happening in my home country, the US. In 2025, I’ll be heading to Anaheim from August 15 to 17 for an exhilarating competition. Fast forward to 2026, and I’ll find myself in San Francisco from August 28 to 30 for the Pokemon World Championships. Last year, the event was held in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii. Can’t wait!
As a dedicated Pokémon enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of the global community that gathers each year for the Pokémon World Championships. This incredible competition showcases top players from around the world, pitting their skills against one another across multiple Pokémon games such as Pokémon UNITE and Pokemon GO. The ultimate goal? To claim the esteemed title of a Pokémon World Champion. But that’s not all—the winners also secure an exclusive invitation to next year’s event, making it a double dose of excitement and pride!
Beyond discussing the specifics of the championship, the Closing Ceremony also featured a special appearance of Morpeko in Pokémon GO. Additionally, Pokémon UNITE plans to add three fresh characters: Armarouge, Darkrai, and Psyduck to its roster.
A significant reveal was the upcoming release of the “Pokémon Card Game Pocket,” scheduled for launch on October 30, 2024. Pre-registration for this event is open now. Moreover, in the year 2025, the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) will reintroduce “Trainer’s Pokémon cards” to strengthen the bond between trainers and their Pokémon within the game.
