What is coming in Pokémon Unite on Pokémon Day 2025
On the occasion of Pokemon Day, I’m thrilled to share that there are some fresh updates and cool new features coming to Pokémon Unite! This year’s Pokémon Day is packed with exciting additions, such as:
Introducing the new All-Rounder Pokémon – Suicune
On February 27th, a legendary Pokemon named Suicune is set to enter the battlefield in Pokemon Unite. This formidable Water-type Pokemon will be playing the role of a versatile character within the game. Suicune boasts impressive abilities that make her an ideal teammate for other Pokemons such as Alolan Ninetales and Mamoswine. These two Pokemons possess the ability to repeatedly freeze their targets, which complements Suicune’s skills effectively.

As a devoted fan, I’ve come to appreciate that Suicune’s passive skill makes her an even greater threat when attacking frozen foes. Combined with its powerful ultimate ability that grants immunity to control effects, Suicune becomes a force to be reckoned with, efficiently freezing and overwhelming multiple enemy targets during critical team fights.
New Battle Pass Season 30 skins

On Pokemon Day, we’re also launching Pokemon Unite’s Battle Pass Season 30. This season of the Battle Pass for Pokemon Unite will showcase unique costumes, or “holowears,” for both Ho-Oh and Suicune. The theme of this season is Otogi-style, which means you can expect fresh new looks for the trainers and their Pokemon.
A brand new Battlemode is coming as well
In honor of Pokémon Day, Pokemon Unite is introducing a fresh Battle Mode, derived from the Chinese version of the game. This innovative gameplay style introduces a more intricate battle system, featuring reimagined wild Pokémon and unique map mechanics, enhancing the overall gaming experience for players by offering new challenges and excitement.
Remoat Stadium returns to Ranked Matches
To honor Pokémon Day, Remoat Stadium is going to revert back to Competitive Matches for a brief period, starting from February 27 and ending on March 13. This special occasion will also mark the beginning of ranked season 26, where players can experience a new, limited-time map. So, why not invite your friends to join you in the competitive battles at Remoat Stadium during this time?
Matchmaking System Adjustments
The creators of Pokémon Unite acknowledge the issues regarding their matchmaking system and are dedicated to enhancing it for a better player experience. Consequently, the team will be implementing significant changes to the game’s matchmaking system to ensure fairness and transparency in matches for both sides.
Hey there, fellow gamers! You might’ve noticed that our game developers have always been dedicated to fostering a fun and fair gaming environment for us all – the Trainers. Now, they’re stepping up their game by implementing stricter penalties for any unacceptable behavior. This move aims to make our battleground even more enjoyable! So let’s keep it clean, keep it fun, and keep training!
Final Thoughts
2025’s Pokémon Day is gearing up to deliver thrilling updates for Pokémon Unite, ensuring the game remains captivating for both beginners and seasoned players alike. With fresh playable Pokémon, tweaks to matchmaking, and an entirely new gameplay mode on the horizon, trainers have much to anticipate. Mark your calendars for February 27th, 2025, as this special Pokémon Day is promising to be a truly memorable event for all Pokémon Unite enthusiasts.
