Notably, this release introduces a new mechanism called Pokémon Tools, borrowed directly from the real-world Pokémon Trading Card Game. Furthermore, the set includes Sinnoh-themed cards, including popular characters such as Dialga ex, Palkia ex, and the Sinnoh starters – Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.

This makes it both formidable and adaptable. However, the downside of having to discard three Water Energy cards adds a tactical challenge when using Palkia ex.

The long-awaited Trading Feature is coming along with the update

The trading functionality in Pokémon TCG Pocket is set to go live on January 28, 2025, which is one day prior to the release of the Space-Time Smackdown expansion.

• Friend-Based Trading: Accepting trades will only be available through friend lists.
• Same-Rarity Trades: Trades involving the swapping of others will be accepted only when both parties involved have equal rarity cards.
• Item Requirements: For this trade to initiate, it must have two items Trade Hourglasses and Trade Tokens.
• Cards Supported: Initially, support includes the Genetic Apex cards and the cards from Mythical Island. Additionally, cards from other expansions will be included in later iterations.
