Pokémon Trading Card Game fans might be disappointed to hear that the release of the new ‘Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes’ set has been postponed. With the Pokémon Company celebrating its 30th anniversary next month, many players were eagerly awaiting these new cards.

Okay, so I was super hyped because the new Pokémon card set, Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes, was supposed to drop on January 30th – basically, right around the corner! But, The Pokémon Company just hit us with a tweet saying it’s been delayed until February 20th. Bummer, but I guess it’ll be worth the wait!
Pokémon TCG announced on Twitter that the release in the US and Canada will be moved from January 30, 2026, to February 20, 2026. They thanked fans for their understanding and continued support.
The game will launch just one week before Pokémon Day on February 27, 2026. Nintendo has said to expect major news on Pokémon Day, including possible remakes and the first look at the next generation of Pokémon games – Generation 10.
Why are people so excited about the new set?
With Pokémon celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, there’s a lot of anticipation for the upcoming trading card game sets, and many new releases are already planned. The ‘Ascended Heroes’ set is generating even more buzz than usual, largely due to its special, beautifully illustrated full-art Mega Evolution cards.
And yes, there will be a new Charizard card, which always raises the value of Pokémon TCG sets.
