Major announcements for the July 2025 Pokémon Presents
Here are some upcoming announcements that will cover the newest additions to our gaming franchise, including details on related events and updates for our most eagerly awaited game releases.
2025 Pokémon World Championships
In Anaheim, California, from August 15 to 17, the top-tier Pokémon tournament is set to take place, catering to competitive players. Those joining the competition will be awarded a unique promotional card, specifically a Stadium card named “Paradise Resort”.
For those who aren’t competing, they’ll receive a unique digital code to claim Toedscool in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet at the event instead.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu
Working together with Aardman Studio, a new stop-motion animation show featuring Pokémon characters Sirfetch’d and Pikachu is being developed for the franchise. This series is set to debut in the year 2027.
New title: Pokémon Friends
The fresh game now accessible on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices offers an array of brain-stimulating puzzles, ideal for leisure gamers seeking entertainment. Following the Pokémon Presents live broadcast, you can immediately download Pokémon Friends on these platforms.
Free Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Update for the Nintendo Switch 2 System
As they eagerly anticipate the tenth generation of the primary series, gamers with Nintendo Switch 2 can enjoy a more visually appealing Paldea region, since Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has been enhanced for the latest system.
Excitedly, I can’t wait to join in the upcoming Tera Raid Battles on Pokémon Scarlet & Violet! These battles will showcase the radiant shiny forms of the Treasures of Ruin (Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu) – a sight I’m eager to behold!
Gameplay mechanics revealed for Pokémon Champions
In the hint given earlier at the Pokémon Presents, we find that Pokémon Champions functions as a battle simulation platform. This allows you to engage in combat using any Pokémon you’ve captured and nurtured across previous games, thanks to the assistance of the Pokémon Home cloud service.
Another option is to assemble a new squad by hiring some Pokemon using the game’s primary currency, VP. Furthermore, it has been disclosed that you can engage in Pokémon Champion battles (either Single or Double Battle) in two distinct modes: Ranked Matches for online contests and Private Battles when you prefer challenging your friends.
In the upcoming Pokémon Champions game, each champion will possess unique methods for enhancing their Pokémons. These techniques include training opportunities that allow a Pokémon to boost specific attributes or acquire new abilities. Although the game is still under construction, it’s expected to release around 2026.
New characters and more Mega Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
As we count down the final months until the much-anticipated release of the latest Pokémon Legends game for 2025, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement about what this new adventure might bring compared to my previous journey in the Pokémon Legends world.
From what we’ve seen in Pokémon Presents, it seems that Pokémon Legends: Z-A may include a group similar to an organization named Team MZ, whose nature is reminiscent of the Galaxy Team from Pokémon Legends: Arceus in terms of their objectives and pursuits. Introduced among its new members are characters such as Urbain or Taunie, Lida, and Naveen.
At night, you’ll come across additional characters, notably skilled trainers that take part in the Z-A Royale – an after-hours competition. By winning more fights, you can advance your standing within this event.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that beyond the routine side quests involving detective work and lab assignments, you’ll encounter an extraordinary element in Lumiose City – Mega Evolved Rogue Pokémon! These aren’t your average Pokémon; they’ve undergone Mega Evolution on their own and are causing quite a stir around the city. It’s up to you to tame, understand, and harness their powerful forms!
Excitedly speaking as a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my enthusiasm about the upcoming transformation of Dragonite! It’s no secret that Dragonite was the first pseudo-legendary Pokémon, and now it’s getting an amazing upgrade with Mega Evolution. This new form introduces head-mounted wings and a pearl-like orb at the end of its tail. Mark your calendars for October 16, as Pokémon Z-A is set to launch, and you can preorder it now!
