Pokémon Legends Z-A will not add any new Pokémon species according to leaks

It seems we won’t be getting any new Pokémon or regional forms.

Rumors abound on the web regarding Pokémon Legends Z-A, with the most recent speculation hinting that the game will not introduce any new Pokémon or regional variations of existing ones.

In the latest Pokémon Legends title, Legends Arceus, they presented numerous regional variants of Pokémon. Contrastingly, this game was positioned far in the past compared to Diamond and Pearl, as well as the Sinnoh region. The upcoming game, Legends Z-A, is set much closer to when X and Y took place, and it exclusively occurs within Luminose City.

In the realm of possibilities, here’s a glimpse at speculations regarding fresh Pokemon in the Legends Z-A saga. Remember, this information is based on leaks, so it remains unverified until officially announced.

No new Pokémon or regional variants coming in Legends Z-A say leakers

Multiple sources, including reliable Centro Leaks, have consistently confirmed that no new Pokemon will be introduced upon the game’s release, with this information being widely reported across various platforms as early as March 25th.

This news aligns with previous rumors indicating that the game might feature numerous new Mega Evolve forms. The X & Y games and the Kalos region were heavily focused on Mega Evolutions upon their release. Consequently, it seems logical for the game to prioritize new Mega Evolve forms instead of introducing new Pokémon.

By concentrating on a single city, it becomes less reasonable to include regional variations. This is due to the minimal time gap between events in X & Y and Legend Z-A, making it puzzling as to why certain Pokémon and their variants weren’t included in X & Y if they appear in a game that follows closely after. Explaining Mega Evolutions, which is technology-based, is more straightforward compared to introducing all new Pokémon in Legend Z-A.

Legends Arceus introduced Hisuian variants of Pokémon

Indeed, these speculations could be incorrect since they’re based on leaks. However, it’s still possible that Luminose City might have some unique Pokémon, regardless of whether there are no fresh additions to the overall Pokémon roster or new regional variations.

The latest game in the Pokémon Legends series introduced 16 new forms of Husian Pokémon when it was released. If reports about Mega Pokémon are accurate, adding regional variants or new Pokémon to Legends Z-A would result in a much larger amount of fresh content compared to Arceus. The game is also introducing new battle mechanics and undoubtedly has more unannounced features.
