Pokémon Legends: Z-A adds a new Mystery Gift with Mewtwo Mega Stones

Legends: Z-A players can now get both of Mewtwo’s Mega forms through a Mystery Gift.

You can now get Mewtwo and its Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends: Z-A by redeeming a special Mystery Gift that was released with the announcement of Mega Lucario Z.

Okay, so I just got this Mystery Gift called Project M, and it’s awesome! It opens up a whole new side quest where you can actually find and catch the original Mewtwo! But that’s not all – you also get both Mewtwonite X and Y, which means you can Mega Evolve Mewtwo into either of its Mega forms. Seriously cool!

Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are incredibly powerful Psychic-type Pokémon, ranking among the strongest in the series. Both have a base stat total of 780, which is only matched by Mega Rayquaza and surpassed by Eternamax Eternatus, with an astounding total of 1125.

How to claim the Mewtwo Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

To start the special mission and get the two Mewtwo Mega Stones, launch the game and press the ‘X’ button. This will bring up the main menu where you can find the Link Play settings.

In the menu, follow the steps below:

1. Select Link Play.

2. Go to Mystery Gift.

3. Select Get via Internet (make sure you’re connected to the Internet while doing this).

4. Wait for the Internet connection to load, and you’ll see the list of available Mystery Gifts.

5. Select Project M

After receiving the Project M Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, return to the game and check your Satchel. You’ll find the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y Mega Stones in the Mega Stones section.

Where to find the Mewtwo Side Mission

Everyone can get this special gift, even if they don’t own the Mega Dimension DLC. You just need to have finished the main story of the game to begin the quest to claim it.

After receiving the Mystery Gift, go to Lysandre Café, which is northeast of Wild Zone 7. Once inside, find Lysandre Labs, take the elevator up to the third floor, and turn right after exiting to start the Mewtwo quest.
