Pokémon GO Trainers call for big change to Field Research
Does Field Research need adjusting in Pokémon GO?
Players of Pokémon GO are urging Niantic to make a significant change in how Field Research functions within the game, following an unusually active series of events. The request was sparked by having three separate events taking place on a single day, July 20th, which included the Water Festival, Quaxly Community Day, and Summer Concert.
As a dedicated gamer, here’s how I would rephrase it in the first person:
“Each of these three events offers unique Field Research tasks that feature event-exclusive Pokémon like Spinda, Special Background Quaxly, and Costume Lapras. However, you can only claim one Field Research from a stop each day. If you’re keen on catching Spinda, remember to avoid interacting with a PokéStop until 5pm. This rule applies even during the Quaxly Community Day!
Currently, trainers on The Silph Road community subreddit are advocating for a potential change in the system for future updates.
Calls for Field Research to refresh with events in Pokémon GO
The call is especially for rural players, who might not have a lot of PokéStops around them.
The Trainer notes that since there are four distinct Field Research options at each stop, if you value all three events and reside outside an urban setting, you’ll likely need to make thoughtful decisions about which research is most essential, so as not to impede your progress towards obtaining the next event’s research. Additionally, given the rarity of the desired encounters, there’s a high probability that they won’t align with your preferences once the events transition.
Trainers are recommending that the Field Research associated with PokéStops should update when an event begins or ends. This means you could engage with a stop during a Community Day, as well as after it has ended, and receive two sets of Field Research tasks.
Suggestion is popular amongst the community
The community found this idea quite favorable. It was noted by trainers that implementing it would further boost player participation and interaction with the game. Presently, abstaining from playing during specific periods can increase the likelihood of having a Field Research opportunity available for future events.
In simpler terms, experiences such as GO Fest demonstrate that such features can indeed work within the game, given they’ve been part of it previously. Although the recent Unique Concert event may have exacerbated the issue, incorporating this feature would be a significant advantage if it were to be added.
