This Pokémon resembles a human-sized praying mantis, boasting a robust metallic red exoskeleton and crab-like claws. Its body is as tough as steel, while its claws possess the strength to shatter hard objects. Given that it’s a Tier 3 Raid, defeating Scizor won’t pose significant challenges if you employ the right strategies. This guide will discuss the most effective methods and counters for overcoming Scizor with minimal effort in Pokémon Go.
Scizor in Pokémon Go
Scizor is a twofold Pokémon that belongs to both Bug and Steel categories, and it boasts a maximum Combat Power (CP) of 3393 when leveled up to 50. Its weakness lies exclusively with Fire-type adversaries, thus limiting your potential counter choices significantly. To ensure success, it’s crucial to bring your strongest counters along and perhaps even team up with one or two other players, as this will maximize your chances of victory, especially for experienced trainers who possess top-tier counters.
Scizor Moveset
As a devoted Pokémon trainer, I can confidently say that my favorite moves for Scizor are Fury Cutter and Iron Head. These two moves together boast an impressive DPS of 46.9, making them indispensable in both Gym battles and PvP encounters. However, there are other solid choices from Scizor’s movepool that you might want to consider, such as Bullet Punch, Night Slash, X-Scizzor, and Trailblazer.
Best counters against Scizor in Pokémon Go
As a seasoned Pokémon Trainer with years of battling under my belt, I must say that defeating Scizor can be quite challenging, but I have found some effective counters to ensure victory. First and foremost, Mega Aggron’s Stone Edge or Earthquake moves can do significant damage to Scizor due to its Steel/Bug typing. Additionally, a Water-type Pokémon like Blastoise with Hydro Cannon or Gyarados with Dragon Rush can also cause heavy destruction on Scizor, thanks to its weakness to both Water and Flying types. Lastly, a Grass-type Pokémon such as Venusaur with Sludge Bomb or Sceptile with Leaf Blade can take advantage of Scizor’s double weakness to Grass attacks.
