As a Pokémon GO player, I’m really excited about the new Super Mega Raids! Basically, they’re these super tough raids where you battle Mega Pokémon that are even more powerful and enraged. It’s a whole new challenge!
Just one day before the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos kicks off, a new type of raid called Super Mega Raids has been added to the game. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about them, including what they are and how to join.
What are Super Mega Raids in Pokémon GO?
Pokémon GO has just launched Super Mega Raids! They’re available starting today, February 19, 2026, and are likely to attract a lot of players right before the Kalos Tour begins tomorrow.
Okay, so Super Mega Raids in Pokémon GO are basically these super tough battles where you team up with other players to take down a Mega Evolved Pokémon that’s gone wild! These Mega Pokémon are way stronger than usual, and if you win, you get a chance to catch them and seriously power up your best Pokémon team. It’s a great way to get even stronger in the game!
To participate in raids, you’ll need at least seven other players, and everyone must have a Mega Evolved Pokémon. The raid boss will start with a shield that can only be broken by Mega Evolved Pokémon.
These raids will produce higher rewards than standard Mega Raids, including extra Mega Energy.
How to participate
To join Super Mega Raids in Pokémon GO, you’ll need Link Charges. You can buy these in the app, or earn them by completing free weekly quests and other activities.
You can also join Super Mega Raids if you have a Premium Battle Pass which costs $9.99 USD a month.
The game is designed so players can enjoy the exciting raids even without spending money. With the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos starting soon, it’s a good idea to gather plenty of Link Charges beforehand.
Will you be participating in Pokémon GO’s new Super Mega Raids?
