Pokémon GO increase spawn rates to help rural players

This increase to Pokémon GO spawn rates will be felt in remote areas.

Niantic has revealed plans to boost the appearance rate of Pokemon in Pokemon GO globally. This significant adjustment, being one of the largest to spawn rates since the game’s launch in 2016, aims predominantly to enhance the gaming experience for players residing in rural and remote areas.

In more isolated locations such as remote or rural areas, gamers often experience a significant amount of frustration due to the scarcity and difficulty in finding essential game elements like Raid Battles, PokéStops, and Pokémon spawn points. This lack leads to fewer resources available and less opportunities for encounters with various species of Pokémon.

With these updates, it’s now more convenient for rural Pokémon GO players to actively participate in the game’s main activity: capturing Pokémon.

Niantic boost Pokémon GO spawn rates

Increasing the frequency at which Pokémons appear in the game is something that Trainers would always appreciate. The reason being, having more Pokémons means a higher chance of encountering shinies, hundos, perfect PvP IVs, and overall, making the game more enjoyable to play. There’s nothing more disappointing than opening Pokémon GO and finding an empty map.

For rural gamers nowadays, several are either not participating actively in many aspects of the game or needing to journey into urban areas and larger settlements to play. Although this travel is justified for significant events which foster interaction with programs like the Ambassador Programme, it significantly increases the effort required to enjoy the game.

With these changes, rural players should find more Pokémon spawning in their area.

Changes also apply to more densely populated areas

These alterations in Pokémon GO spawn rates aren’t limited to rural areas alone. In fact, these adjustments are universal and will impact densely populated zones such as towns and cities as well. Essentially, this means that all trainers stand a better chance of catching more Pokémon, leading to increased XP, Stardust, and the possibility of encountering a rare shiny one! So, stay alert for an influx of Pokémon in your locale.
