Podcaster reveals the dark side of OnlyFans in new web series – as teenagers count down the days they can sign-up to the adult subscription site on their 18th birthday

A former radio producer is launching a new online series that takes a hard look at the often-hidden realities of the adult film industry.

Joshua Fox, a former employee of The Kyle & Jackie O Show, is launching a new YouTube series called Spicy Summer. The show will reveal what it’s really like to be a content creator on OnlyFans.

The new series, launching November 16th, explores how teenagers are eagerly anticipating their 18th birthdays so they can start earning money on an adult content platform.

According to a trailer released on YouTube Tuesday, the effects of this are now becoming apparent in society.

Growing up, I remember everyone wanting to be an astronaut, a famous actor, or a pop star – those were the dreams! But it feels so different now. These days, it seems like so many young people look up to people who create adult content. It’s a real shift in who’s considered a role model, and honestly, it’s a little concerning to me.

People often believe it’s a fast track to wealth and recognition, but unfortunately, that’s simply not the reality.

Nineteen-year-old Willow, an aspiring content creator on OnlyFans, says many of her friends hope to work in the adult entertainment industry as soon as they turn eighteen, seeing it as a realistic career path.

She points out that young girls don’t dream of becoming Taylor Swift because they don’t believe it’s a realistic aspiration.

‘But we can be like the OnlyFans girls. We can get rich like they have.’

Joshua then features footage of Anna Paul, a popular Australian OnlyFans creator, being swarmed by fans at public appearances and getting recognized in public.

The series centers on four sex workers: Willow, who is from rural New South Wales; Gigi, a 24-year-old from Sydney; Maxine, 23, from Melbourne; and Arabella, 27, who lives in London.

A new ‘OnlyFans Academy’ has launched in Australia, created by Joshua and adult agency XX MGMT, to help aspiring adult content creators get started.

In the trailer, Joshua says he used the onboarding process from [XX MGMT] to develop a training program for new content creators.

We spent months looking for four people – each with unique experiences, skills, and backgrounds – to participate.

With these lessons, I hope students will take a moment to consider if their current path truly aligns with their desires, and whether the effort involved is worthwhile.

The video then follows the women as they face tougher and tougher tasks and learn the skills needed to thrive on OnlyFans.

During one difficult moment, Willow became overwhelmed and started crying, admitting she wasn’t sure she could continue.

The video also shows the women posing for provocative photos and approaching people on the street, sometimes in an unwanted manner.

Gigi explains it’s a tricky balance – you need to enjoy the present moment, but also think about how your actions might affect how others see you.

‘My end goal is to have kids and a family and marriage. I don’t want to sabotage myself.’

Gigi participated in a provocative photoshoot, posing in revealing lingerie while also wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat previously associated with Donald Trump.

Joshua wants to make sure people realize the risks involved in this line of work and how it could affect their future goals, he explains.

He’s concerned about the emotional impact this will have on them, and urges them to carefully consider their limits and what they’re willing to do to achieve their goals.

Joshua started his career as a journalist and later became a producer for The Kyle & Jackie Show at KIIS FM.

He now hosts a podcast called MAFS Funny and, along with Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola, started the AIIMS Creator Hub earlier this year in January.

Spicy Summer: Bondi Beach will begin streaming on YouTube on Sunday, November 16.
