PMGO 2025: Teams, format, schedule, prize, and more

2025 will mark the first global competition of the year, taking place in Uzbekistan, and offering a grand prize pool of half a million dollars.

2025’s PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) is quickly approaching, as teams from around the globe are finalizing their spots for the inaugural international tournament taking place in 2025. The event will take place in Uzbekistan and is one of three international tournaments planned for this year, with the PMWC 2025 set to happen in Saudi Arabia and the PMGC 2025 in Thailand coming up next.

The PMGO 2025 competition may not have as big a prize pool as the PMWC and PMGC, but its name implies it’s open to everyone, ranging from professionals to amateurs. Nearly half of the spots in this tournament are reserved for the preliminary round. Moreover, the preliminary round is designed specifically for semi-professional and amateur teams, preventing professional players from participating.

PMGO 2025 teams

In the PMGO 2025, there will be a total of thirty-two participating teams. These teams are divided into two categories: sixteen Main Event teams and sixteen Preliminary teams.

PMGO 2025 format and prize pool

2025 PMGO (PUBG MOBILE Global Open) is structured into three segments: Qualifying Round, Preliminary Round, and Main Tournament. The Qualifying Round was a global online event where any PUBG MOBILE player could participate; 12 teams successfully advanced to the Prelims following this round.

From our perspective as a proud host nation, approximately 16 Uzbekistan squads could take part in the Qualifier Finals. The team that finishes at the top of these qualifiers secures a direct spot in the Main Event, while the second through fifth-place teams move on to the Prelims. In the Prelims, the top 7 teams will earn their place in the Main Event as well.

As a gamer, I’m geared up for an exciting tournament! The Qualifier Finals will consist of six thrilling matches, followed by twelve Prelims battles and another dozen Main Event encounters. Each match will employ the official PUBG MOBILE Global Esports scoring system: one point is awarded for every enemy we eliminate, with additional points given based on our team’s final ranking within each match. The breakdown goes like this: 10 points for the victorious squad, 6 points for second place, 5 points for third, 4 points for fourth, 3 points for fifth, 2 points for sixth, a single point for seventh and eighth places, and no points for teams finishing ninth through sixteenth. Let’s see who will rise to the top!

In summary, the $500,000 prize money will be distributed among contestants based on their final positions and individual achievements. Additionally, the tournament’s outcome may impact the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Power Ranking, which is scheduled for an update in late April 2025.
