Season two of Pluribus is shaping up to be full of drama, especially now that Carol Sturka has access to a powerful weapon – an atom bomb.
A release date for the next season of the popular Apple TV+ sci-fi show hasn’t been announced yet, but Rhea Seehorn, who won a Golden Globe for her role, recently shared an encouraging update. It suggests fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out what Carol does next in her complex struggle against the Others.
Rhea Seehorn shared that the writers are currently working on the show, but she doesn’t know when production will resume. She revealed this while speaking to reporters after winning a Golden Globe on Sunday for her role in a TV drama (according to DRM News).
Carol Sturka, the actor, added that she believes the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, wants them to start filming as quickly as possible.
She explained that Vince isn’t deliberately delaying things, but he’s taking the time to create the best possible show for his fans and everyone interested in the story.
Seehorn concluded, “So we’ll get back as fast as we can, I promise you that.”
Gilligan recently shared an update on when filming for season 2 of Pluribus might begin (according to The Hollywood Reporter), dismissing the possibility of it starting as soon as May 2026. He said, “May of what year? Definitely not. I wish that were true.”
Although Seehorn and Gilligan appear to be suggesting people wait, a prominent fan of Pluribus is pushing for quick action.
Stephen King recently shared on social media that while he appreciates Vince Gilligan taking his time with the second season of Pluribus, he jokingly reminded Gilligan that he’s not getting any younger and would like to see the show continue.
Vince Gilligan recently discussed the potential future of Pluribus with ScreenRant. He suggested the show might last for three seasons, but also left the door open for more, while acknowledging it doesn’t feel like a story that could go on indefinitely.
The first season of Pluribus launched on Apple TV on November 7, 2025, and received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a 98% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
ScreenRant’s review of Pluribus season one praised it as “an eerie, slow-burning instant sci-fi classic.” The review also noted that while Pluribus requires patience, its intriguing and thought-provoking story will keep viewers engaged and guessing until the very end.
Apple TV+ has announced that Pluribus is now its most popular show, surpassing previous hits like Ted Lasso and Severance in viewership.
