Grab a free donut from Krispy Kreme today even as the PlayStation Networks slowly come back up.
Following a significant period of offline operation, PlayStation networks appear to be gradually reactivating for some users. Nevertheless, it’s not yet fully operational and numerous players continue to encounter difficulties with online gaming. Simultaneously, Krispy Kreme is providing free donuts as a treat for gamers who find themselves idle due to the Sony network outage.
PlayStation Network stumbling back online
Some users are sharing experiences of the PlayStation network gradually resuming. Users have shared images showing they’ve managed to sign in to the servers. Nevertheless, even though logins seem successful, there are ongoing issues locating and participating in online multiplayer games.
2011 saw one of the longest PlayStation server outages, lasting approximately 23 days, due to a significant security breach. This incident exposed personal details of around 77 million users, with the initial attack occurring between April 17 and 19. Sony shut down their network on April 20, causing a prolonged period of disappointment for PlayStation gamers.
Players still unable to play games
Although many players can access the servers, a number of them have mentioned they’re having trouble playing games. Now over 18 hours past, these servers remain offline, and we’re yet to understand why Sony is taking so long to bring them back online.
Approximately 7 pm ET saw the PlayStation network experiencing an outage, as confirmed by numerous users across the U.S. Initially thought to be brief, the issue has extended beyond 18 hours. Given the large number of gamers who use the network to play their preferred online titles, this unexpected downtime has led to significant frustration and anger within the gaming community.
As a devoted gamer, I’m finding myself increasingly frustrated with PlayStation’s handling of certain multiplayer titles like Rocket League, Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA Online, and more. Sony has acknowledged the problem once, but their response hasn’t been quick enough for my liking, leaving me and fellow gamers hanging.
All PlayStation services are experiencing problems, affecting PlayStation Direct, video services, and the online store. Users have encountered difficulties with payments not being processed, login failures, and server troubles.
Free Krispy Kreme Donuts for ‘bored gamers’
During extended PlayStation network issues, gamers have been sharing humorous memes online. In response, several brands have stepped up with enticing deals. Since many players are left idle due to the prolonged server outage, what could be more appealing than providing free donuts? That’s precisely what Krispy Kreme is offering – a complimentary donut for gamers within a designated time frame.
Are you a gamer? Check out this functional PlayStation! Meanwhile, take advantage of a complimentary Original Glazed Doughnut offer, available from 5-7 PM today—no need for a server to receive this sweet treat.
From 5 PM to 7 PM, the deal is still applicable at a Krispy Kreme store, so if you happen to be nearby, why not stop by and claim your complimentary doughnut? Fingers crossed that the PlayStation servers are operational again before then.
