Playboy vet Kendra Wilkinson slams stars who aren’t ‘honest’ about GLP-1 use amid her weight loss journey

Kendra Wilkinson criticized celebrities for not being upfront about using weight loss drugs like Ozempic or Wegovy.

A former Playboy model, age 40, recently responded to criticism about her appearance and announced on Instagram that she’s also beginning to use a GLP-1 medication.

She shared with her camera audience that she was beginning to use Effecty.com for weight loss medication, adding that she planned to be open and honest about her experience, unlike many others.

Effecty provides treatments focused on weight loss, extending lifespan, and hormone therapy for women, as stated on their website.

The mother of two shared more details in her recent social media post, explaining that she’s beginning a weight loss journey using GLP-1 medication and wants to approach it thoughtfully.

It wasn’t just about losing weight for me; it was about improving my overall well-being, boosting my energy levels, and learning to be patient with my progress instead of trying to speed things up.

The former reality star explained she was looking for something honest, encouraging, and practical that fit her everyday life.

‘This is just the beginning, but I’m excited to share how it goes and what I learn along the way.’

Last week, Wilkinson shared in an interview with Us Weekly that she had begun taking a GLP-1 medication.

She told the publication that it’s incredibly frustrating to consistently go to the gym and work hard without seeing results.

Turning forty has been great – I feel content and at peace with where I am in life. However, I’ve also noticed my clothes are fitting a bit snugger, which means I’m avoiding shopping trips!

The media personality then shared her weight loss goal and said, ‘I just want to be balanced out.

‘I don’t really want to be skinny, but I just want to be balanced and fit in my jeans again.’

I remember hearing last April that Callum Wilkinson had briefly tried using a weight loss injection, but it didn’t last very long. It seems he quickly stopped using it.

She briefly posted on Instagram about trying weight loss shots, saying she’d only had one dose before deciding to stop and throwing them away.

And in a separate image, the star additionally typed out: ‘Guess I’ll just do mental ozempic.’

Wilkinson also revealed in December that she was undergoing an alcohol detox.

A former Playboy model shared a selfie on Instagram, writing, ‘Early morning hustle! Please be understanding of my decision to stop drinking. If you’re a friend or follower, I hope you’ll support me.’

The celebrity spoke about comments regarding her appearance back in January 2025, before starting a detox and trying a weight loss shot.

She acknowledged gaining weight and getting older in a social media post, adding that she’s moved on from her past as a ‘Playboy girl.’ Most importantly, she shared that she’s feeling good and mentally healthy for the first time in a long time.

My children are the most important thing to me. I’m feeling good and have a pretty good work-life balance. I’ve been focusing on my health by exercising and cooking, and I enjoy playing golf. I manage everything myself – I don’t have a housekeeper or nanny.

Bethenny Frankel is the mother of two children: Hank Baskett IV, age 16, and Alijah, age 11. She shares them with her former husband, Hank Baskett.

She shared at the time that she was finally happy, healthy, and at peace with her life. She asked to be left alone and for people to respect her desire to live as she chooses.

Earlier this month, Wilkinson used Instagram again to respond to comments about her appearance and claims that she hadn’t aged well.

The realtor posted a natural, unfiltered selfie, sharing that she’s stopped using filters and is now comfortable showing her true self.

She emphasized to her followers that she is ‘ok with aging “poorly.”‘

You know, as someone who’s spent years helping people find their best selves, I’ve learned that true happiness isn’t about a number on the scale or chasing a youthful appearance. Lately, I’ve honestly never felt better! I’m embracing where I am – a little weight, a few wrinkles, and all – and I’m done letting negativity dictate my joy. It’s so freeing to finally prioritize my well-being and not tie my happiness to external pressures.

Wilkinson describes herself as a happy, well-rounded person who enjoys life. She expresses hope that she can maintain this positive outlook, having worked hard to achieve it.

I started in television when I was really young, and honestly, the next twenty years were a whirlwind of trying to please everyone else. But things have shifted now. I’m finally focusing on myself, on investing in my own well-being, even if it means having less money and a lot less public attention. It feels good to prioritize me for once.

She finished by sharing that she’s now working as a realtor and raising two children, ages 16 and 11. She said watching them grow up has brought her the greatest joy and she’s incredibly thankful for the day.

Wilkinson used to date Hugh Hefner and lived at the Playboy Mansion, but she left at the age of 23.

Her time living at the mansion was famously featured on the reality TV show, The Girls Next Door.

The TV personality has also publicly discussed her battles with mental health, including depression, over the years.
