Plants vs. Zombies joins Dark Horse’s latest WEBTOON collection, arriving in late 2025

Company duo, WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. and Dark Horse Comics, have teamed up to bring the cherished Plants vs. Zombies franchise from PopCap Games to life as a comic series. In addition to four other prominent IPs like The Witcher, this new adaptation will make its debut on WEBTOON’s platform in the latter half of 2025.

In a new development, the fan-favorite tower defense strategy game, commonly known as “Plants vs. Zombies,” is set to appear on WEBTOON. This popular title joins an expanding roster of well-known franchises such as “The Witcher,” “Critical Role,” “Cyberpunk 2077,” and “Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra.

If you’re unfamiliar with WEBTOON, it’s a well-known global digital comic platform that caters specifically to mobile reading. Owned by Naver Corporation, it has grown into a worldwide hub for popular series such as Lookism, The Mafia Nanny, Omniscient Reader, and others.

The forthcoming Plant vs. Zombie webcomic seems to be a follow-up from Dark Horse’s extended series that originated with the “Plants vs. Zombies: Lawnmageddon #1” comic book issue in 2013. This series will now be reformatted for WEBTOON’s popular vertical scroll style, making it convenient for reading on mobile devices.
