Plane owned by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil involved in fatal collision; he’s fine, rep says
On Monday afternoon, a tragic incident occurred at an Arizona airport as a private jet belonging to rock star Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe struck another private aircraft during landing. One individual lost their life, and four others sustained injuries, according to the authorities’ reports.
At 2:29 in the afternoon, a Learjet coming from Austin, Texas, swerved off the runway during its landing approach at Scottsdale Airport and struck a stationary Gulfstream 200 aircraft, as reported by Kelli Kuester, the aviation planning and outreach coordinator for the airport. It seems that upon landing, the Learjet’s left landing gear malfunctioned, leading to the plane crashing, according to her statements at a press conference.
Neil does not personally own the Learjet Model 35A that experienced a crash; however, it was he who owned the aircraft, as confirmed by his representative, Worrick Robinson, none of him were on the plane at the time of the accident. As stated by Robinson, there were only two pilots and two passengers aboard the aircraft during the incident.
As a film enthusiast, I’d like to express my heartfelt sympathies to everyone who’s been affected, and I’m truly thankful for the swift action and bravery displayed by the first responders on the scene right now.
At 6 p.m. local time, it was reported that one individual had tragically lost their life within the plane, and they needed to be carefully removed from the aircraft, shared Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio. Immediately following the incident, two individuals were rushed to trauma centers. Later on, another person was transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition. Remarkably, one person declined medical treatment, as per the captain’s statement.
After the unfortunate accident on the runway, it was shut down for a while before being reopened at approximately 8:30 in the evening, as stated by the airport authorities. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting an investigation into the event.
As a resident deeply touched by the unfortunate incident, I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathies to everyone involved in the accident. On behalf of our beloved city, Scottsdale, we offer our sincerest condolences and are praying fervently for those who have been admitted to our trauma center for treatment. May they find swift recovery and peace during this trying time.
Monday’s crash was the latest in a spate of lethal aviation incidents across America.
As I reflect upon the tragic events of late January, I find myself grappling with the heartache of three separate air disasters that have claimed numerous lives. On January 29th, a commercial jetliner and an Army helicopter collided midair near Washington D.C., taking the lives of 67 souls. Two days later, a medical transportation plane crashed in Philadelphia, causing the death of six crew members on board and a bystander on the ground. Most recently, last week saw the loss of ten lives in the crash of a small commuter plane in western Alaska. These incidents serve as a grim reminder of the inherent dangers that exist within our skies, and my thoughts are with those who have been affected by these devastating events.
