Pip Edwards Breaks Silence: The Shocking Truth Behind Her Sudden Exit from P.E Nation
Pip Edwards recently disclosed the true motivation behind her departure from P.E Nation, a move that occurred after the company’s re-launch the previous year. She co-founded the brand alongside Claire Greaves back in 2016.
45-year-old fashion designer departed from the company in August of the previous year, following a disagreement in their professional relationship with her former best friend that led to Claire’s exit from P.E Nation only a few months prior.
After a great deal of fan speculation regarding her reasons for relinquishing her company, she admitted that she found it impossible to sustain the demanding work schedule required for managing the business, according to reports from Wish on Friday.
She explained to the magazine that not many individuals comprehend the multifaceted nature of establishing and managing a business, encompassing both technical aspects like construction and operation, as well as creative, customer-facing roles such as product development. Essentially, it’s like having five jobs rolled into one, and she never took a break from her relentless pursuit.
For quite some time, I poured every waking moment into that venture, working round-the-clock. It’s no secret that such an intensity can’t last indefinitely; I experienced a few breakdowns as a result. Let me assure you, I’m speaking honestly here.
I wasn’t slighting P.E., it was more a matter of survival for me. It felt like I was stuck on a treadmill with no way to get off, and once something is in motion, it’s hard to stop.
Pip explained that she needed to break free, regroup, and find a new approach that suits her feelings, stamina, and soul. She also mentioned the need to readjust and redefine her personal space.
She found it inconsistent to promote a wellness-focused brand when her own health was less than optimal.
The fashion designer, speaking about her departure from P.E Nation, noted that some people following her lengthy tenure might misunderstand her reasons for leaving so soon after its re-launch. However, she emphasized that she was unable to carry on due to the heavy workload.
However, though Pip now serves as the Creative Director at Ksubi, the label that launched her fashion career, she acknowledged that P.E Nation remains close to her heart, as she continues to be a part-owner of this brand.
Last year, a significant disagreement occurred between Pip and Claire, marking the conclusion of one of the longest-standing and profitable collaborations in the Australian fashion industry.
Claire, along with Pip, initially established P.E Nation, a popular athleisure brand that resonated greatly with trendy mothers in the affluent suburbs, eventually making them millionaires. However, Claire parted ways from her active position within the company’s daily operations in March of the previous year.
Currently, P.E Nation announced that they are embarking on different creative journeys and shifting their professional path towards a new direction.
After that, rumors circulated about a potential dispute between Claire and Pip. Later on, it appeared as if Pip deliberately deleted any evidence of Claire’s association with P.E Nation from their social media platforms, which seemed like a significant gesture, given their years-long partnership promoting the sportswear brand.

After Claire left her position, Pip assumed full creative control and revamped and reintroduced the brand. However, in August, she announced that she would also be leaving her post.
In the upcoming month, which is September, she will once again take up the role of Creative Director at Ksubi, the fashion label that initially brought her into prominence during the 2000s.
Although neither woman has disclosed the cause for their split, Pip stated back in June of last year that Claire was essentially the outcome or result in their business collaboration.
On the Kyle and Jackie O Show, she shared that in our collaborative venture, P.E. Nation, her partner took care of the product design aspect. She was exceptionally talented in this role, while I focused more on marketing aspects.
Later on, Pip shared that she cherished the times she collaborated with her past associate and commended Claire’s exceptional design skills.
In the middle of 2022, Claire ended her business partnership, but she and her husband, Tim Tregoning, did not make their separation public until early 2023.
She mentioned during her interview with The Sydney Morning Herald that our relationship remains friendly, as we continue to co-parent and cherish each other, he has become more like a dear friend.
Life evolves, and it has done so for us as well. We’re navigating these changes together, showing each other much respect and providing mutual support along the way.
