72-year-old Irish actor Brendan Gleeson required assistance learning how to handle a Glock pistol while filming the second season of the crime series, MobLand.

It’s been 23 years since he last played James Bond, and the gun used wasn’t his signature Walther PPK.

However, Helen Mirren, 80, looked perfectly comfortable handling a powerful Uzi submachine gun.

The actors will once again play Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, a married couple who lead a criminal organization locked in a brutal battle for territory against the Stevenson family. Tom Hardy also stars as Harry Da Souza, a man who handles problems for the Harrigans.

The first season of the Paramount+ show, created by Guy Ritchie, attracted 26 million viewers. The upcoming second season will delve into a more intense and gritty story focusing on illegal gun and drug trafficking across Europe.

Filming has begun, with some scenes already shot in Spain. Most of the original cast members are back, including Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey, and Anson Boon.

Brosnan and Ms Mirren also recently filmed The Thursday Murder Club together for Netflix.
