Pierce Brosnan shares “certain agreement” with Helen Mirren’s James Bond sexism comments
Pierce Brosnan has stated that he finds himself in agreement, to some extent, with Helen Mirren’s recent remarks concerning the issue of sexism in the James Bond series, as portrayed by her co-star in the film “MobLand.
Previous week, Dame Mirren expressed her dislike for the Bond series, stating that the movies have been heavily influenced by deep-seated sexism and were often overly saturated with it.
In response to comments made by Mirren, who co-stars with Brosnan on the critically acclaimed crime series “MobLand” streaming on Paramount+, Brosnan shared his thoughts.

During an interview with The Standard, Dame Judi Dench expressed her admiration for Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, who have portrayed James Bond in films, though she personally isn’t fond of the character himself.
In a recent statement, Mirren expressed that she was not particularly fond of Bond (Pierce Brosnan) as a character. However, she made it clear that she is an immense admirer of Pierce Brosnan himself. She went on to say that he’s simply amazing, incredibly good-looking, and she thinks he’s fantastic in the movie “MobLand.” But what truly sets him apart, according to Mirren, is his exceptional kindness as a person, making him one of the most delightful individuals with whom she has had the privilege to collaborate.
Additionally, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Daniel Craig personally, and I can attest that he is not only a talented actor but also a genuinely kind and gracious individual.
She added: “The entire James Bond series didn’t appeal to me at all. Not by a long shot. I’ve never been fond of James Bond, and I’ve always found the portrayal of women in the series problematic.
