Picture of the remaining Star Trek: TOS’ actors on the bridge of the Enterprise garners over 2M views

As a gamer who has spent countless hours navigating the galaxy of Star Trek, it’s a profound moment to witness the unity of the original Enterprise crew – Captain Kirk, Ensign Chekov, and Lt. Sulu – after all these years. Their reunion, captured in that iconic photograph, is a testament to the enduring power of this franchise.

Star Trek: The Original Series made its debut back in 1966, more than five decades ago now. The show featured a stellar cast that included William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, Majel Barret-Roddenberry, James Doohan, and George Takei. While the main focus of the series revolved around Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley, each of these talented actors graced many of the 79 episodes with their presence. It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen them all assembled on the original deck of the Enterprise.

This is where a photo was captured featuring the three surviving cast members – Shatner, Koenig, and Takei – which was later shared online by a passionate Star Trek fan in September this year.

The image has received more than 2.5 million views and 65,000 likes. With Koenig and Takei directing, Shatner assumes the captain’s seat, just as his character, Captain James T. Looking at this last image of these three men, who continue a franchise that started long ago, carries a mix of joy and sadness. We’re glad they’re still part of our lives, but their presence serves as a poignant reminder of those we’ve sadly said goodbye to. The radiant stars who, alongside Shatner, Koenig, and Takei, breathed life into this series will never fade away completely. For they leave behind an abundance of episodes, movies, and interviews that continue to shine brightly for us to enjoy.
