PHOTOS: New Toy Story Snack Kiosk is a Popcorn Box

A fun, new way to get popcorn is coming to Walt Disney World! Instead of a traditional bucket, a new snack kiosk shaped like a giant popcorn box is opening in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You won’t be able to buy the kiosk itself, but you will be able to buy popcorn from it!

Still Behind Construction Walls

During our recent visit, construction walls were still up, but we could see the top of the new kiosk peeking over them. From the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it looks like this kiosk will be the first thing guests see when entering Toy Story Land.

A new kiosk has been added near the restrooms next to Woody’s Lunch Box. Workers are also building a new seating area right across the walkway. This installation follows a permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, which lists Mecca Productions as the company handling the construction of the new features.

A Spilled Popcorn Box – Why?

The kiosk looks like a classic red and white striped popcorn box that’s been tipped over. The sign features “Popcorn” with “and snacks” written next to it in a playful, handwritten style, similar to the way Andy from Toy Story might write it.

The play area is designed to look like Andy’s backyard, and it continues the idea that Andy made everything himself – like the Round Up Rodeo BBQ restaurant – from everyday things like cardboard boxes. It’s funny, then, that popcorn – often served in boxes – is one of the most frequently spilled items at Disney World.

It’s clear that the unique popcorn buckets will be a big hit, and this kiosk will probably sell out of them quickly. Disney hasn’t yet announced what food will be available, or what the kiosk will be called.

Where Is The Popcorn?

Andy’s playful idea of using a popcorn box as a snack stand for his toys is charming, but one detail seems odd. Instead of actual popcorn overflowing from the box, it’s just a picture painted on the side. This feels out of place compared to the other impressively large props in the area, like the huge straws and Tinker Toys.

Are we expecting a lot of popcorn on the ground around the kiosk? We can’t see the base of it yet because of the construction walls, so we’ll have to wait and see if that happens.

The team at Park Place will be checking in on the menu, kiosk name, and other details once the venue officially opens.
