Phoebe Burgess Reads Heartwarming Novel on Noosa Beach

Phoebe Burgess enjoyed a family day out at Noosa Main Beach on Tuesday.

Previously known as an NRL WAG, a woman of 36 years, seemed cheerful while basking under the sunlight alongside her two children, Poppy aged seven and Billy aged five, whom she co-parents with her former partner Sam.

She showcased her sleek Pilates-toned body in a revealing black swimsuit, paired with a vibrant orange sarong as an accessory.

Under a wide-brimmed straw cowboy hat and sporting oval sunglasses, she took it easy basking in the sun’s rays and indulged in a refreshing dip in the ocean.

Sarah Hooke, Phoebe’s mother, also came along, making it a family gathering that included Phoebe and her two kids. They all enjoyed their quality time together.

Phoebe was spotted as well, engrossed in Maggie Alderson’s novel titled “Would You Rather.” This book centers around a betrayed spouse, which resonated with Phoebe following her personal experience of infidelity.

 

The tome is described as a ‘heartwarming family drama novel’.

As per the summary, the story revolves around a woman named Sophie, who is deeply affected when she discovers that her late husband, Matt, had been unfaithful prior to his unexpected demise.

Sophie blinked and glanced down once more, feeling a sense of relief since it appeared as though everyone would assume she was deeply saddened by the task of delivering her husband’s eulogy, rather than stunned, as she had moments ago, staring straight into the eyes of his mistress.

Phoebe and her former NFL player spouse, Sam, garnered attention when he publicly confessed to infidelity during their four-year union.

They got married in 2015, but they parted ways at the end of 2018, with a brief reconciliation in April 2019, followed by another separation permanently in October 2019.

Previously, Sam, a former Rabbitohs player, eventually owned up to his infidelity towards Phoebe, explaining how his actions brought shame upon her due to his unacceptable behavior.

He admitted that he wasn’t always the best husband and caused embarrassment for his wife. He also confessed to having an affair with a lady in Melbourne, which he has stated before during his time on SAS Australia.

While I was traveling, an unfortunate event occurred which would have made it challenging for Phoebe. In other words, it wouldn’t have been easy for her.

In late 2018, when Phoebe was expecting her son Billy, she revealed that she had numerous STD tests due to infidelity on Sam’s part.

She asserted that throughout her pregnancy, she endured distress due to Sam’s outbursts caused by substance use.

She shared with The Australian, “These were aspects that I didn’t want to accept or put up with in a relationship.

In the period preceding the arrival of my child, I continued shielding a person who was fractured and exhibiting despicable behavior. This individual was deeply entrenched in substance abuse, excessive drinking, wild parties, prolonged intoxication spells, and even pleading for money.

Sam discussed his drug and alcohol abuse on SAS Australia, and attended rehab in 2021. 

Since then, the athlete has been in a relationship with fashion designer Lucy Graham, and they tied the knot in October, marking their union, exactly a year following the arrival of their first child.

In the spirit of unwavering devotion, I proudly adopted my beloved’s last name, Sam, after tying the knot. Phoebe, however, remains resplendent as a Burgess, a decision that only adds to her allure in my eyes.

Phoebe chose to keep her married last name, ‘Buffay’, because she shares it with their two kids.
