This past weekend, Matthew Collins, the football-playing son of Phil Collins, posted an uncommon photo on Instagram, capturing them together, with Matthew showing his support for his dad at a sports event.
20-year-old sports prodigy represents Austrian team WSG Tirol, while 74-year-old musician Phil attended the game to watch him perform on Sunday.
With a bright smile, Matthew stood beside his renowned father, both clad differently; Matthew in his green and white football uniform, while his father opted for a more casual attire.
Matthew titled his post: “We scored big victories today!” With his arm affectionately around Phil, who is the father of Matthew’s youngest child among his five kids.
Instead of saying “His proud half-sister, the actress Lily Collins, re-shared the post and wrote excessively: ‘I love everything about this’ accompanied by a white heart emoji,” you could say:
Lily Collins, who is his half-sister and an actress, shared a post with the comment: “I adore every bit of this!” followed by a heart symbol.
The English footballer signed a contract with WSG Tirol in 2023.

Earlier in his career, he represented Hannover’s U19 team. However, after Hannover released him, he managed to catch attention during a tryout in Austria.
Earlier, Coach Manuel Ludwiger expressed surprise regarding a player’s ancestry, stating: “Before bringing players for trials, we usually search their histories online using Google to learn about their previous professional experiences.
‘It was only then that we found out Matthew is Phil Collins’ son.
‘We haven’t signed him as a publicity stunt. It is purely down to his footballing ability.’
Phil isn’t Matthew’s only superstar relative, however.
It’s worth noting that his half-sister, Lily, has achieved great success as an actress, particularly in the starring position for Emily in Paris.
Several years ago, rock great Phil opened up on his son’s passion for sport.
‘Matt loves music, but loves his football even more,’ he said.
He has expressed confidence that he will become a professional within the next five years. (Another way of saying this is: He believes he will turn pro in five years.)

‘He also looks at everything, Bundesliga, French league, everything.’
Lily has returned to shoot the upcoming season of Emily In Paris, only three months following the birth of her daughter Tove with spouse Charlie McDowell.
In her initial post, Lily conveyed her heartfelt appreciation, which knew no bounds, towards the surrogate who assisted her in becoming a mother.
However, following the posting of a picture of baby Tove on Instagram by the actress, she faced harsh criticism online, with numerous individuals labeling her as part of an expanding ‘questionable’ trend among top celebrities.
The intense reaction was such that U.S. film producer Charlie felt compelled to issue a statement, urging individuals to reduce their use of harmful language. He stated that it remains unclear what led the couple to utilize a surrogate, and he emphasized that no one can truly grasp their motivations behind this decision.
