Phantom Blade Zero Developer Hasn’t “Ruled Out” Xbox

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief and anticipation upon hearing the news about Phantom Blade Zero potentially gracing Xbox consoles. Growing up, I was an exclusive PlayStation kid, but in recent years, I’ve found myself dabbling on both sides of the console war, thanks to the ever-evolving landscape of gaming.


The developers of Phantom Blade Zero, known as S-Game, have made it clear they are open to the possibility of releasing the game on Xbox.

The studio released a statement to social media (via Eurogamer), in response to a quote from an unnamed developer. The quote, from an interview published by a Portuguese site,  was, apparently, “nobody needs Xbox,” but this was a mistranslation.

S-Game’s statement reads:

Lately, it appears certain media sources are reporting they spoke with a developer from S-Game at Chinajoy, who seems to have shared information about the launch platforms and plans for Phantom Blade Zero.

Let me make this clear: The assertions being made do not align with the values or ethos of S-Game, since we firmly uphold the principle of creating a game that is inclusive for all. Regarding Phantom Blade Zero, we have not limited ourselves to any specific platforms yet.

“On both the creation and distribution sides, we’re putting in a lot of effort to make sure our game is playable by a large number of people at its launch and beyond.”

At the moment, Phantom Blade Zero is planned for launch on the PlayStation 5; however, a definite release date has yet to be set.

Recently, we noticed that some media outlets have claimed to have interviewed an unnamed developer from S-GAME at Chinajoy, who seems to have made some statements regarding the release platforms and strategy for Phantom Blade Zero.
