Peter Dinklage, Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr team up for ‘unhinged’ road trip comedy
Actor Peter Dinklage, along with Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr, are joining forces for a brand-new comedy movie named “The Idiots“.
In the forthcoming movie, Macon Blair serves both as writer and director. The cast includes Franco portraying the role of a disillusioned character named Mark, while Davis, a well-meaning but clumsy individual, will be played by Jackson (according to Deadline).
When the duo found themselves at their lowest point, they took on a questionable transportation role, which involved moving a distressed teenager named Sheridan towards a rehabilitation center.
However, Sheridan harbors different intentions, turning the initial road trip into a wild, drug-infused journey marked by disastrous events, brushes with death, and run-ins with criminals.
In a state beyond belief, Mark and I are swimming far deeper than our abilities, yet we gather the nerve to confront our missteps. We’re coming to understand that the journey itself is what truly counts – the remarkable individuals we encounter en route.
Dinklage’s role in the film is being kept under wraps for the time being.
Previously, the actor from “Game of Thrones” worked with director Blair on the 2024 action comedy titled “Brothers”. In this movie, he shared screen time with Josh Brolin. Notably, the script for “Brothers” was co-written by Blair and Etan Cohen, who is also known for writing “The Bad Guys”.
Dinklage and Blair are joining forces for the upcoming movie titled “The Toxic Avenger“, a production where Blair handles both the writing and directing duties.
In this modern retelling of the 1984 cult favorite, Dinklage portrays Winston Gooze, a janitor who undergoes a strange incident leading to his metamorphosis into a mutant crusader.
After having its debut at Fantastic Fest in September 2023, it has been officially announced that the movie “The Toxic Avenger” will hit US theaters later this year.
Blair expressed heartfelt appreciation towards the team from The Toxic Avenger, who were consistently helpful and skillful in our quest to find the ideal distributor for our movie, he added.
It’s thrilling to know that people can catch this movie in cinemas! It’s an exciting, lively flick that’s best enjoyed with a cheering audience. The protagonist, a mutant hero, uses a mop to take down villains – it’s a fun, family-friendly spectacle!
