Peter Capaldi and Harriet Walter lead Black Mirror season 7 cast announcement
As a devoted fan of thought-provoking TV series that delve deep into the human condition and our relationship with technology, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Season 7 of Black Mirror! The all-star cast announced for this season is nothing short of phenomenal. From Peter Capaldi to Harriet Walter, Emma Corrin, Rashida Jones, Paul Giamatti, Issa Rae, Chris O’Dowd, and Tracee Ellis Ross – the roster is truly impressive!
For the upcoming seventh season of ‘Black Mirror’, renowned actor Peter Capaldi from ‘Doctor Who’ has been announced as one of the main cast members.
Charlie Brooker’s anthology thriller series is set to come back in 2025, boasting new installments with the participation of actors like Harriet Walter from “Happy Valley”, Emma Corrin from “The Crown”, Jodie Whittaker’s successor David Tennant (Capaldi), and Rashida Jones from “Parks and Recreation”.
Notable actors joining the cast are Paul Giamatti from “The Holdovers”, Issa Rae known for her role in “Barbie”, Chris O’Dowd famed from “Bridesmaids”, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Jimmi Simpson, who has acted in “Westworld”.
The season 7 casting announcement was shared on Netflix UK & Ireland’s official X account as part of their #GeekedWeek reveals.
The streaming platform posted a brief video snippet showing the list of actors’ names within an on-screen software update for a coding program.
In Season 7, we can anticipate a continuation of the storyline that began in the fourth season’s episode, ‘USS Callister’. This significant episode featured Jesse Plemons and Michaela Coel, as well as Jimmi Simpson and Cristin Milioti who are renowned for their roles in The Penguin. Excitingly, it has been confirmed that both Jimmi Simpson and Cristin Milioti will reprise their roles in Season 7.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that in the upcoming installment, you’ll see stars like Osy Ikhile from Citadel, Billy Magnussen known for his role in Road House, Paul G. Raymond famous for Horrible Histories, along with Milanka Brooks, Patsy Ferran, Lewis Gribben, Siena Kelly, and Rosy McEwen joining the scene!
Although the entire cast list has been disclosed, the streaming platform hasn’t specified the characters each actor will play yet, however, they have announced that Black Mirror Season 7 is being filmed at present.
In a recent conversation with Deadline, the show’s creator, Brooker, hinted that one of the forthcoming episodes could be the darkest one in the series so far.
He shared with the publication that he penned a single script, which many found to be one of the most emotionally intense, depressing pieces yet. Additionally, there are episodes with technical themes and ones that evoke tears. So, it’s hoped that it offers a complete emotional experience, but time will tell. Ultimately, the audience will decide its impact.
Black Mirror season 7 will return to Netflix in 2025.
