Peter Andre forced to apologise to BBC presenter after they take ‘swipe’ at Mysterious Girl singer for disappearing just moments before live interview

Peter Andre had to apologize to BBC host Alex Grundon after Grundon playfully criticized him for missing a planned radio interview.

The 52-year-old singer unexpectedly disappeared right before he was scheduled to appear on a live radio show on Saturday, leaving listeners wondering what happened.

To explain the uncomfortable moment, Alex said, ‘Let me give you some background on how things work in the entertainment industry.’

The presenter pointed out that celebrities aren’t like his mother, who always arrived incredibly early for everything. He explained that, unlike his mother, celebrities simply live their lives normally and don’t fuss over schedules.

He playfully suggested that when someone like Alex calls, people aren’t expected to rush to answer. He implied Peter might be busy with everyday tasks – anything from cleaning the bathroom to washing the car – instead of being available immediately.

Later in the show, Alex shared that the singer couldn’t be reached and explained that the team was working hard to find him.

He jokingly begged the star to reach out, saying, ‘Peter, please get in touch – call, text, even send a message by pigeon! We’d love to hear from you.’

Alex playfully thanked viewers for their positive messages about the show, joking that the fans were the real source of interesting content. He added with a laugh, ‘We definitely couldn’t rely on Peter Andre for that!’

The DJ finally announced they had located Peter Andre, saying, ‘I don’t want to shock, scare, or thrill anyone, but Peter Andre has been found and will be joining us.’

Oh my gosh, get ready! In the next half hour, we’re going to meet Peter Andre!

Shortly after, Alex brought Peter onto the show and playfully suggested he might need to keep him under control.

Peter unexpectedly apologized mid-interview, simply stating, ‘I apologize, I need to,’ before continuing with the scheduled conversation.

Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and Peter’s representative for comment.

This follows Peter’s comments earlier this month on Lorraine, where he stated he understands how upset the Beckhams are and hinted at private issues surrounding the controversy involving their son, Brooklyn.

The singer appeared on the ITV show to chat to host Lorraine Kelly, 66, about his new album Legacy.

The discussion quickly shifted to his efforts to create a law prohibiting anyone under 16 from using social media, and Lorraine then steered the conversation towards the recent issues within the Beckham family.

Earlier this month, David and Victoria’s oldest son, aged 50 and 51 respectively, publicly shared a six-page statement on Instagram. In it, he stated he doesn’t want to repair his relationship with his family and is asserting his independence for the first time.

Okay, so I’ve been following Brooklyn and Nicola’s story, and honestly, it’s so dramatic! Apparently, they’ve been completely iced out by the family – like, seriously snubbing everything. I mean, David Beckham’s 50th and getting knighted?! And they weren’t there? It’s just…wow. It seems like there’s this huge rift, and they’re refusing to participate in any of the big family moments. I’m obsessed with finding out what really happened!

Lorraine pointed out that the Beckhams have managed to keep their children relatively private, despite their exposure to fame through reality TV and other public appearances. She wondered how they’ve been able to do this and prevent similar issues from happening, referencing a recent breakdown or conflict (‘fractured’).

Peter expressed sadness, describing the people involved as kind and lovely. He’s met them on numerous occasions and clearly thinks highly of them.

He went on to say that it’s challenging because we live in an era where everything is up for debate.

Lorraine responded, referencing a previous conversation about social media. She explained that Brooklyn had shared everything publicly, whereas in the past, family issues would have been kept private. She acknowledged that, like all families, things can be complicated.

Families are always complex, and it’s rare to truly understand what happens behind closed doors. Things become even more difficult when family issues become public.

Peter said: ‘That’s why I find it hard when everyone is giving their opinion on it.

It feels like no one cares what I think. Even if I did share my opinion, it wouldn’t make a difference.

He continued: ‘I would never, in something like that, I would never get involved.

I understand there’s a lot happening that you’re unaware of, and it’s likely to be painful. I really don’t want to see anyone get hurt.

‘But it happens to everybody. I have had my fair share.’

Lorraine mentioned he’d received a lot of harsh criticism. Peter responded by saying he doesn’t always think criticism is unwarranted – he believes everyone deserves some level of critique.

I understand where I went wrong. I realize I shouldn’t be commenting on other people’s families when I have my own issues to focus on.

Earlier in the interview, Lorraine asked the singer why he is ‘so worried about social media’.

Peter pointed out how frustrating it is when people criticize social media while simultaneously using it themselves and allowing their children to do the same.

Please remember, when social media first began, we all launched it together with no understanding of the potential risks involved.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m increasingly concerned about the impact of AI, especially when paired with social media. It’s now incredibly easy for someone to take a photo of your child and, using AI, generate all sorts of fabricated content – and that’s a real worry for parents today.

Peter is the father of two children: Junior, age 20, and Princess, age 18. He shares them with his former wife, Katie Price, 47. The couple were married from 2005 to 2009.

We’ve watched them grow up on TV, and they’ve gained a massive following on social media.

He has three children with his wife, Emily MacDonagh, aged 36: Amelia, 12, Theo, 9, and Arabella, who is one year old.

They are kept out of the spotlight, and their faces have never been shared online.

Lorraine observed that each of your children is pursuing a unique path: your eldest is independent, your middle child is following in your musical footsteps, and your youngest has their own show.

You’ll be there to support them and guide them through this, as it’s a challenging process. And you’re especially protective of your three youngest children…

Peter explained: ‘At first Emily was like, “I’m not letting them on social media”.

‘I thought she was being a bit harsh, I’m like “Come on!”

It’s natural for parents to share details about their children – things like what they’re eating or what they’re up to. This is a tradition that’s been passed down through generations; parents have always enjoyed showing off their kids.

As I watched things develop and AI became more prevalent, I was really relieved they’d limited people’s access to social media.

‘So actually, I thank her, I can’t take the credit now, but I agree with that very much.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9:30am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
