Peter Andre is worried this Christmas could be his mother’s last.
The singer, 52, gave an update on his 89-year-old mum Thea’s health in a new interview.
Peter revealed Thea’s Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s has progressed so much, she can barely speak.
Parkinson’s disease is a gradual condition that impacts movement. It happens when the nerve cells that make dopamine start to die off. Common symptoms include shaking, slowed movement, stiff muscles, and difficulty with balance.
After celebrating Christmas with his wife, Emily, and their five children, Peter will travel to Australia to visit them.
Peter shared with OK! magazine that he’s understandably worried this Christmas might be his mother’s last. Her Parkinson’s disease has gotten much worse, and she’s become very frail. She struggles to speak, managing only a few words here and there, which is incredibly difficult for the family, as she’s always been their rock and source of strength.

I saw Dad, and even at 92, he’s still with Mom every day. He’s becoming frail, and his memory isn’t what it used to be, but I’m so thankful they reached a huge milestone – 70 years of marriage this September, something I’d always hoped for.
It’s a deeply painful experience. Even as an adult, I struggle to come to terms with bad things happening to those closest to me.
Peter shared that his parents, Savvas and his wife, received a letter from the King after marking their 70th wedding anniversary.
Peter shared that they’d received a lovely letter from the King. Even though his mother can barely speak anymore, he’s sure the news will bring her joy, knowing how much love and support she has.
In May, Peter shared a touching goodbye with his mother, Thea, in Australia before returning to the UK.
In the video, Peter’s mother gently touches his face while trying to talk to him.
He shared a message with his post saying that spending time with his mother is the best part of any trip. He admitted he didn’t quite understand what she was saying in the moment, but that sometimes words aren’t necessary. He finished by saying he’ll be back soon.

‘I love her so much, I pray she knows that. I also love Australia. But back to my babies now.’
Elsewhere in the interview, the couple talked about their Christmas plans.
Peter’s children – Junior, 20, and Princess, 18 – from his marriage to Katie Price will be spending Christmas at home with his younger children: Theo, eight, Millie, 11, and Arabella, who is 20 months old.
This year, instead of eating at home, the family plans to go to a pub for their Christmas meal after they’ve opened presents from stockings made of nylon tights.
Junior’s girlfriend Jasmine, 25, will also be spending the festive day with the family.
