Pete Wicks likens his Strictly backlash to ‘abuse’ as he leaves rehearsals with pro partner Jowita Pryzstal in his flashy Porsche… but what will his new flame Maura Higgins think of their tight-knit bond now she’s out of the jungle?

As a seasoned observer of reality television and its intriguing cast of characters, I must say, this latest development between Maura and Pete is quite fascinating. Maura, with her vivacious personality and undeniable charm, has always been a captivating presence on our screens. Her decision to participate in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and now, the Australian version of Strictly Come Dancing, showcases her courage and adventurous spirit.

Pete Wicks has compared the criticism he’s faced on Strictly Come Dancing to “harassment,” as he persists in his bid for the Glitterball Trophy.

Prior to addressing the online death threats during the competition, Pete was spotted departing rehearsals alongside his dance partner Jowita Pryzstal, aged 30.

Previously starring on TOWIE, now 36 years old, departed with Jowita in a stylish Porsche before their scheduled appearance on It Takes Two on Thursday. There, he openly discussed the criticisms he’s faced.

In that spin-off show, when the gracious host, Janette Manrara, posed a question to me, she said something that struck a chord: “Some argue that it’s the popularity, not my dance skills, that has brought me here.” However, I firmly believe that my passion for dance is what truly sets me apart.

Pete said: “I believe the term ‘criticism’ may be too mild. I’d rather use ‘abuse.’ However, remember, things are as they are. It’s impossible to satisfy everyone, and I’m not aiming to please everyone. Instead, I’m here to learn.

I’m simply someone diving into new experiences, and if I let negativity dictate my actions, I might never wake up eager for the day.

‘But, on the plus side, there’s been loads of really lovely things said as well. It is what it is, it’s not nice to hear.’

Meanwhile, as Pete was dancing away, it’s been revealed that Maura Higgins, aged 34, from I’m A Celeb, shared details about their relationship, mentioning that they were already dating prior to her entering the jungle.

While Pete went someplace with Jowita, it turned out that Maura was the sixth celebrity to leave the show “I’m A Celebrity” on the broadcast of Thursday evening.

During her stint in the jungle, Maura has openly spoke about her love life with he campmates.

When Oti Mabuse inquired about her relationship status, Maura responded, “I don’t have a partner at the moment, but there was someone I was seeing prior to arriving, yet we’re not officially in a relationship.

On Sunday, during a chat about their respective romantic situations, Richard inquired from Maura if her current involvement was limited to just one person.

As someone who is asked often about my identity, I replied with a hint of shyness: “Well, yes.” Then, in all honesty, I confessed that I’ve been yearning for his presence ever since I stepped foot into this camp.

Dean acknowledged that he too had experienced the sensation when searching for someone who was no longer there, similar to how Richard felt when looking for his late partner David in a crowd and his heart went.

Dean McCullough then asked about her current situation: ‘Does it feel different this time?’

Maura answered: ‘It does, but then is it because we’ve known each other for a long time?’

Richard noted: ‘By this point, you would have figured out whether he’s a jerk or not. As she smiled thoughtfully, she confirmed: ‘Indeed, he isn’t a jerk.’

Even with his busy schedule on Strictly, it’s evident that he hasn’t forgotten about Maura, as he recently shared a post from her Instagram (managed by her loved ones while she’s abroad) and encouraged followers to vote for her.

He quipped: ‘I’ve been George of the Jungle but now its time to vote for Maura of the Jungle’.

Additionally, Maura’s relatives have reciprocated their backing for Pete by posting a video of him with Jowita from Strictly too.

Posting a sweet video of the pair dancing under the glitterball, they penned in the Saturday night post: ‘waltzing into the quarter final like… known em dead tony!!
