Pete Wicks introduces his new puppy to fans after the death of his dog Peggy ‘broke his heart’

Pete Wicks has revealed his adorable new puppy after the death of his dog Peggy ‘broke his heart’.

Okay, so I’m absolutely smitten with my new furry family member! I already have my adorable Frenchie, Eric, and I shared some seriously cute photos on Instagram this weekend of us all snuggled up together. It’s just the sweetest thing!

Everyone, meet Rodney! He’s Eric’s new baby brother and is four months old. We’re so grateful to the Dogs Trust and Dogs Trust West London for everything.

A few months ago, I lost my beloved Peggy, and it was devastating. I haven’t talked much about it, and I don’t really want to – she was one of a kind and I miss her terribly.

I’m not getting another dog to replace the one I lost. I want to open my heart and home to a dog who needs a loving and secure environment.

Last month, Pete shared the sad news that his French bulldog, Peggy, had passed away. This came after he previously mentioned she had been receiving treatment for several months.

Oh my gosh, I was listening to his podcast, ‘Staying Relevant,’ and he shared the most awful news! Apparently, his precious dog passed away about a month ago. I’m absolutely gutted for him, you could just feel his heartbreak through the speakers. It’s just so sad!

Pete shared in July that his dog, Peggy, had a scary experience and almost got lost. He also mentioned she was receiving treatment for several months.

He announced her passing on his show, having brought his other dog, Eric, to the recording session. He explained he anticipated fans would be wondering where Peggy was.

He shared that Peggy, his beloved pet, had recently passed away, explaining this was the reason for her absence and acknowledging people might be wondering.

Eric is joining us in the office because he’s been feeling lonely. I hadn’t shared that before, so I expect people will be curious. This actually started about a month ago.

I recently heard from Pete about how challenging this past year has been for him. He shared that he’s actually planning a quiet Christmas, just him and his adorable dog, Eric. It sounds like he really needs some downtime and quality time with his furry best friend, and honestly, who can’t relate to that sometimes?

He said he’s probably going to relax with his friend Eric and have a Pot Noodle. It’s been a tough year, so he’s considering a getaway for Christmas, but usually, he spends the holiday alone with his dogs.

After filming his show at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Basildon for several weeks, Pete said he’d consider adopting another dog sometime in the future.

It’s tough because I love all dogs and want to adopt them all! But I try to follow my own advice – finding a dog that fits your life is key. My work and other commitments mean I need to be really careful to choose the right match.

This isn’t a decision I can make alone. I need to talk to Eric first. He’s getting older – he’s twelve now – and we need to find a dog that’s a good fit for him too.

‘I really want to make sure that I get it right, as I always have done. It’s really important.’

Pete adopted Peggy in 2018. He shared that she was a rescued French Bulldog, originally helped by the charity French Bulldog Saviours.

In 2016 he rescued Eric from the Dogs Trust centre in Basildon, Essex near where he grew up.
