Pete Davidson checks into rehab: Ex-SNL star 'seeking mental health treatment' at wellness facility - after recently admitting to drug use

As a fervent admirer of Pete Davidson‘s comedic genius and unapologetic honesty, I can’t help but feel a pang of concern mixed with deep admiration for his courage. This young man has been through the wringer, battling mental health issues that many of us can hardly imagine. Yet, he continues to stand up (pun intended), both on stage and in life, sharing his struggles with the world in a way that not only entertains but also educates.

It’s reported that Pete Davidson is receiving care at a wellness center, focusing on improving his mental health.

The news follows DailyMail.com’s exclusive disclosure that the ex-SNL star has confessed to continued marijuana use, having previously given up on cocaine and ketamine.

In California, there are numerous establishments often referred to as high-end recovery centers, claiming to promote wellness. However, it remains uncertain which specific center the 30-year-old individual has checked into.

Representatives for the celebrity have yet to respond to DailyMail.com’s request for a comment.

A source told PEOPLE on Wednesday that mental health has ‘always been a priority’ for the actor.

After finishing over 200 live stand-up comedy performances throughout the country, Davidson’s recovery period follows.

In July 2023, he sought help at a recovery center, receiving care connected to his PTSD and BPD conditions. (PTSD – Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, BPD – Borderline Personality Disorder)

The star even joked about his “‘post-rehab glow’ during a comedy show in Atlantic City last year.

According to a different source, PEOPLE learned that Pete frequently seeks treatment at rehabilitation centers to address personal problems. Throughout this period, his friends and family have provided him with unwavering support.

In July, specifically on the 20th at Atlantic City, Davidson made his first public appearance after his reckless driving case was dropped, which happened to be a stand-up comedy performance.

With a baseball cap on, sporting a blue Ocean Casino Resort hoodie, and loose-fitting black cargo pants, as reported by an exclusive source talking to DailyMail.com, Pete appeared before the crowd at Ovation Hall and, upon learning his charges had been dropped, said, “Hooray? I suppose so.”

At the time, police said at the time that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

Previously dealing with borderline personality disorder and PTSD, Pete underwent a rehabilitation program last summer. Now, he admits to only using marijuana.

He shared with the crowd on Saturday evening, “I haven’t given up just yet. This is pretty much all I have left now. I’ve been using cocaine, ketamine, and various pills, you name it. Now, I only have marijuana left, so things are wrapping up, but I’m clinging on for a while longer.”
