As a lifestyle expert and observer of public figures, I’m always intrigued to see how people in the limelight manage their personal wellbeing amidst their busy schedules and high-profile careers. Two women who have caught my attention recently are Peta Credlin and Julie Bishop, both Australian political figures known for their impressive fitness regimes.
Peta Credlin is one of Australia’s most recognised political commentators.
On Wednesdays, the 54-year-old woman surprised her followers by posting a picture on Instagram following her fitness routine session.
Instead of her usual extravagant appearance, Peta switched to athletic wear to display her toned arms following an intense gym session.
She flaunted her ripped figure in a singlet as she flexed her arm muscles.
Peta completed her look with black sport tights and grey sneakers as she posed for a mirror selfie.
“Midway through the year, and we’re making progress, @jamesk Kelly. As you’re aware, it’s a gun-focused journey for me. However, I must admit, it’s become more challenging now that I’ve reached my 50s,” she expressed.
Based on my personal experience and observation at Enterprise Fitness AU, I believe that a balanced approach to fitness is crucial for both physical and mental wellbeing. Weights training, protein intake, and consistency are three essential elements of this balance. Among these, consistency is the most pivotal.
I’m deeply inspired by Peta, who seems to be mirroring Julie Bishop’s approach to sharing her health and wellness experiences publicly on social media.

In December, a woman aged 68 turned heads when she demonstrated impressive yoga poses, including a headstand, during a live broadcast from Cottesloe Beach. The unsuspecting reporter for Studio 10 looked on in surprise.
‘I was relatively fit but I was challenged by many of the poses,’ she previously told Body + Soul.
‘Over time, I came to enjoy the experience and yoga has become part of my life.’
Julie, currently the head of Julie Bishop and Partners, her consulting firm, admitted to practicing yoga on a regular basis, approximately three to four times a week.
She is also committed to her daily runs and often vlogs her routine.

More recently, the previous minister of foreign affairs had to defend herself against accusations that she deceitfully applied Instagram filters to make her appear more youthful in photographs.
In January, she directly responded to her critics in a video that she posted on Instagram following her regular morning workout.
Dressed from head to toe in workout clothes, Julie spoke into the camera, “I’ve completed my run and am now at the office. Seems someone has taken issue with me using filters on my posts.”
Approaching the camera, she came into view with the well-known Snapchat dog filter casually superimposed on her features. She remarked offhandedly, “To be honest, I don’t find it that appealing.”
