SEGA has released update 4.1 for Persona 5: The Phantom X, bringing with it a special event inspired by Persona 3 Reload (P3R), titled ‘Met by Moonlight Part 1’. The update also includes a new 5-Star character, a unique outfit, and various rewards. Let’s take a look at what’s new!

Makoto Yuki arrives as the new 5-Star Phantom Thief in version 4.1

The latest update, version 4.1, introduces a new 5-Star character, Makoto Yuki, a Phantom Thief. You can obtain him through the “When Moon Reaches Stars” contract, available until June 25, 2026. Along with Yuki, his special 5-Star weapon, the Silent Pistol, is now available in Arms Deals.

Makoto Yuki is a strong Assassin who specializes in Fire attacks and excels at defense. He gets even more powerful by building up ‘Moon Phase’ stacks, either through his own abilities or with help from teammates, allowing for both devastating attacks and clever deception. As a ‘Personal 3 Reload’ character, Yuki has special Assist actions and can use Theurgy instead of standard ranged attacks or the Highlight skill.

The shop now has the exclusive Butler Makoto Yuki outfit available! With the current discount, it costs 2,880 Meta Jewels, but the price will go up to 3,200 Meta Jewels after June 25th. The set includes:

  • Butler Makoto Avatar.
  • Tea Time profile design.
  • Blue Moon Glory profile frame.

Persona 3 Reload crossover takes over version 4.1

A major addition in version 4.1 is the “Met by Moonlight Part 1” event, featuring Persona 3 Reload. During the enigmatic Dark Hour, players will find Wonder and the Phantom Thieves unexpectedly transported to a location resembling Tartarus. There, they’ll team up with the members of S.E.E.S. from Persona 3 Reload.

What I’m most excited about with this collaboration is seeing beloved locations from Persona 3, like Paulownia Mall, return, and watching the characters from both games interact. Persona fans will especially appreciate getting a deeper understanding of the feelings and personalities of the characters in Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload.

The story sends Wonder into Tartarus alongside Makoto Yuki

The story begins with you, Riko, and Lufel traveling to Port Island after school. On the way back, things start to go wrong, and you become separated from your friends. You find yourself trapped in a perilous maze filled with shadowy creatures.

Just when things seem darkest, Makoto Yuki shows up to help and reconnect with his ally, Yukari Takeba. Together, you and Makoto venture into Tartarus, searching for your lost friends and eventually discovering a strange door. Now, continue the adventure and uncover the rest of the story yourself in the game!
