SEGA has released a major update, version 3.0, for Persona 5: The Phantom X! Players can now enjoy new characters available through gacha, the continuation of the main story with Phase 3 of the ‘Unconditional Love’ event, and other exciting additions. Let’s take a look at what’s new!

Frostgale Kotone arrives as the new 5-Star Phantom Thief in version 3.0

The newest addition in version 3.0 is Frostgale Kotone, a 5-Star Phantom Thief! You can get her through the “Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts: Ice Princess” event, which runs until February 5, 2026. She also comes with a unique weapon that’s now available in the Arms Deals: Silent Pistols.

Frostgale Kotone is a powerful 5-Star Assassin who can switch between Wind and Ice abilities. These abilities change how she plays: in Wind form, she boosts her team and attacks enemies multiple times, while Ice form focuses on weakening enemies, protecting allies with shields, and dealing significant damage.

Additionally, she deals more damage when teamed up with allies who share her attributes, making her a great choice for teams focused on Wind or Ice.

You can now clear Thieves’ Secrets: Mont’s Special Missions

Mont’s Special Missions are now available through the Thieves’ Secrets menu. You can play these missions in Normal, Challenge, and Limited modes. Normal mode lets you try out Frostgale Kotone for free, and completing all stages unlocks the other two modes.

You’ll receive special rewards like Meta Jewels and Joy Medals for completing stages for the first time. Plus, each stage you clear will give you items like Fragrance of Iris, Purple Crystals, Skill Incense M, and Secret Tickets. Don’t wait too long, though – these rewards are only available until January 22nd!

Version 3.0 brings the Unconditional Love Phase 3 Main Story event

With the latest update, you can complete Chapter 3 of the Main Story, “Unconditional Love,” to unlock a new Palace and continue the story. Once you reach Phase 3, you’ll gain access to new areas within the Story Palace, offering rewards like Meta Jewels, Plum Blossom Dango, Joy Medals, and items to help you train your characters.

To continue the story, you need to unlock the Palace that was closed after your fight with Katayama’s Shadow. This requires completing tasks both in the real world and within the Palace itself, confronting its ruler. The key missions are the Main Story, exploring the Metaverse, Visions of Ruin, and the Trial of the Astrolabe.

Version 3.0 also introduces Wonder-Exclusive Weapon: Abyss Fang

In this update, we’ve added a new weapon called Abyss Fang, available as a reward from exploring the Dam Palace. You can also get Abyss Fang Shards by trading 500 Companio Coins in the Companio Coin Exchange Shop, or 500 Star Crystals in the Star Crystal Exchange Shop.
