Persona 4 remake may be real after all; reveal imminent

Buckle up, it’s almost time to make history again.

nearly time for another piece of history to be made, as it appears Atlus’ long-forgotten offspring, Persona 4, is coming back in the form of a Persona 4 remake.

Since the release of Persona 3 Reload in early 2024, there have been persistent whispers about a possible remake of P4. These rumors gained momentum in 2025, particularly when Persona 4’s vocalist, Shihoko Hirata, shared a photo from a recording studio, where many of the Persona soundtracks were created.

Currently, there’s strong evidence suggesting that a remake of Persona 4 is indeed in the works. This latest development stems from trusted Persona content creator Faz, who recently disclosed information about a new domain registration titled p4re.jp on platform X.

This newly acquired data was verified by Faz when he mentioned that a website named p3re.jp was registered two years prior, and three months later, it was revealed to be the re-release of Persona 3, known as Persona 3 Reload.

Faz confirmed this fresh info by stating that the site p3re.jp was set up two years ago, which turned out to be the re-release of Persona 3 (Persona 3 Reload) three months later.

Although not definitive, it hints strongly that a remake of Persona 4 may be forthcoming, with the title likely to include the letters “re” (such as Persona 4 Rewind or similar).

When will the Persona 4 Remake be revealed?

If Faz’s report is anything to go by, Persona 4 Remake should be revealed in June 2025.

For those who may not know, Persona 3 Reload was officially revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2022, a yearly event held in June. Given that Xbox had the rights to market P3 Reload and Metaphor ReFantazio, it is quite logical for the remake of Persona 4 to follow this pattern as well.

An alternative scenario is that the remake of Persona 4 might be unveiled earlier during the Nintendo Direct event on April 2, 2025, fueling speculation about potential Switch 2 releases of games like Metaphor ReFantazio and Persona 3 Reload.

As an ardent fan, I’m buzzing with anticipation for the Switch 2 Direct showcase, hoping Atlus could potentially unveil a trio of surprises. Keep in mind that these are just speculations, so it’s wise to approach this info with a pinch of salt. Persona 4 is undeniably one of the most cherished installments in the series, but it’s also been mired in debates and complexities, which might make a remake more challenging than the P3 Reload process.

Hopefully, you won’t have to wait much longer to learn more about this potential P4 remake.
