Okay, so if you’re like me and need a good rom-com to chill with this Bank Holiday, I’d recommend checking out Finding Emily. It stars Spike Fearn – you might recognize him from Alien: Romulus – and Angourie Rice, who was great in the Spider-Man movies. It’s basically about a musician trying to find the perfect girl, which sounds pretty good for a relaxing weekend, right?
The story begins with an artist, heartbroken and trying to connect with a woman, who accidentally receives the wrong phone number. He then joins forces with an ambitious psychology student, and together they search all over campus to find her. This quest not only tests their dedication but also forces them to confront their own feelings and goals.
If you’re excited to see the movie filmed in Manchester, you can now watch Finding Emily in UK cinemas starting today.

The cast also includes Minnie Driver (known for Run Away), Ella Maisy Purvis (Patience), Cora Kirk (Waterloo Road), and Yali Topol Margalith (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder). Alicia MacDonald directed the film, and Rachel Hirons wrote the script.
The movie currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews. According to The AU Review, the film’s success lies in its ability to capture the classic elements that make these kinds of stories appealing – things like longing, discomfort, emotional turmoil, and the possibility of finding unexpected connection.
