Perfect Dark Enlists Marvel's Wolverine Creative Director Brian Horton

As a seasoned gaming enthusiast with decades of immersive experiences under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation about the latest shakeups in the industry. The move of Brian Horton, a veteran developer who’s been around the block more times than Wolverine himself, from Marvel’s Wolverine to Perfect Dark, feels like a masterstroke by Microsoft Gaming Studios.

The revamp of Perfect Dark by Developer The Initiative now has a fresh Creative Director. Previously holding this position for the PlayStation 5 game Marvel’s Wolverine, Brian Horton is moving on to work with the Xbox Game Studios’ Perfect Dark project instead.

The game Perfect Dark is being developed by The Initiative, with assistance from Crystal Dynamics, which Horton worked for over six years before moving on to Infinity Ward for two years and then spending nearly seven years at Insomniac Games, the studio behind Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, and Wolverine.

According to the latest update, Marcus Smith has stepped into Horton’s former position as Creative Director for Marvel’s Wolverine project, with Mike Daly assuming the Game Director role that was previously held by Cameron Christian. In a change of pace, Cameron Christian is now taking on a different job assignment.

Microsoft Gaming spokesperson has verified that Horton will utilize his extensive background in the forthcoming revival of the timeless secret agent series. However, when further gameplay featuring Joanna Dark will be unveiled, remains uncertain, as stated earlier this year.

The game Perfect Dark will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms soon, although the specific launch period hasn’t been announced yet. Similarly, the game Marvel’s Wolverine is planned for PS5, but no release date has been provided at this time.
