The popular show Bergerac is coming back, and it won’t be long! Originally filmed on location in Jersey, the first season was a critical success, earning a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
I’m really excited for season 2! Damien Molony, who you might recognize from The Split and Brassic, is back playing Jim Bergerac. He’s such a great detective, but he’s dealing with a lot – he’s a recovering alcoholic and lost his wife. You’ll be able to stream the new season on U and U&DRAMA starting April 16th.
Joining Molony are returning actors Zoë Wanamaker, playing Charlie Hungerford, Robert Gilbert (from Big Boys) as Barney Crozier, and Chloé Sweetlove (The Crow Girl) as Kim Bergerac.

The show is adding some new actors, including Adrian Edmondson (known from previous roles) as Nigel, a likeable character who enters Charlie’s world. Lesley Sharp (from Red Eye), Turlough Convery as Michael, and Camilla Beeput (who appeared in Hijack) will also be joining the cast as Monica and Nicola, respectively.
I’m so excited for series 2! It sounds like Jim Bergerac is finally starting to move on with his life after everything, which is great to hear. And it’s fun to learn that his mother-in-law, Charlie, has a new boyfriend! Plus, Jim’s even trying to date again, and Kim is really supporting him, which is lovely. It’s a big step for him, but it sounds like he’s ready.
Jim’s life takes an interesting turn when he meets Nicola, who’s visiting Jersey, and they quickly form a connection. Just as things start to look promising for them, Jim gets thrown into a new, demanding case, putting their potential relationship on hold.
