Pedro Pascall, 50, reveals his actress sister Lux, 33, ‘gives him confidence as he faces existential issues around age’

Pedro Pascal credits his younger sister, actress Lux, with being the first person to truly inspire and support him, especially as he’s been reflecting on his own age and what it means.

The 50-year-old actor, a familiar face in Hollywood for twenty years, revealed the encouraging advice his sister, Lux, 33, gave him: to persevere even when he feels unsure of himself.

Pedro interviewed his sister for Elle magazine’s October 2025 issue and revealed the advice she gives him to stay confident.

The actor, who is Chilean-American, shared that someone’s consistent encouragement has been incredibly empowering, especially as he’s been grappling with questions about getting older. He surprisingly found that even their moments of impatience actually boosted his confidence.

You’re incredibly encouraging, telling me I’m capable of anything, and because I trust and believe in you so much, it gives me the strength to keep moving forward.

Lux shared a story about calling her well-known brother, completely upset, and how supportive he was in return.

I mainly remember one specific moment. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I called you while I was crying, and you just kept saying ‘no’ and shaking your head.

I was sharing why I was upset, but you simply told me to be myself and that people would eventually notice my true qualities. And I realized you were right.

As someone who observes relationships, I’ve always admired the connection between Pedro and Lux. He’s spoken so highly of her, actually calling her one of the most inspiring and strong people he knows – and you can really feel that genuine respect between them.

In an interview with Esquire last year, he spoke enthusiastically about her, describing her as one of the most influential and dynamic people he’s ever met. He admitted to being fiercely protective of her, but also acknowledged that he relies on her more than she does on him.

He explained that after their mother, Veronica Pascal, died by suicide in February 1999 – when he was 24 and Lux was only seven – he’d always felt like a father figure to Lux and his brother Nicolás.

He said they were much younger children than him and his sister, so they naturally felt protective of them, even if the kids hadn’t experienced the loss of a parent.

I knew I couldn’t immediately take over such an important role, but I always wanted to make my presence known and show I was ready to contribute.

Like her brother, Lux is a talented actor. She graduated from the renowned Juilliard School in 2023 and has already appeared in productions like *The Prince*, *Invisible Heroes*, and the Chilean series *Los 80*.

In 2021, she publicly shared that she is transgender, and she courageously discussed her transition in an interview and on the cover of the Chilean magazine, Ya.

Lux shared that Pedro played a key role in her transition, recalling a supportive FaceTime conversation where he prioritized her feelings. She remembered he was genuinely concerned and wanted to know how she was doing.

‘I told him, ‘I’m happy.’ And his answer was: ‘Perfect, this is incredible’.’

Pascal has voiced his support for the transgender community before, recently posting on Instagram a message affirming that transgender people have always existed and always will.

He wrote in his post that there’s nothing more awful, insignificant, or sad than bullying a group of people who simply want to live their lives and haven’t done anything to deserve it.
