According to Pedro Pascal, he drew inspiration for his portrayal of Reed Richards during the making of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” by modeling his character after a particular animal.
In an interview with ComicBook, Pedro Pascal – star of The Fantastic Four: First Steps – shares that he took inspiration for his portrayal of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Reed Richards from an octopus. Rather than emulating Mister Fantastic’s elastic abilities, Pascal modeled his Reed Richards character on the way an octopus moves, keeping this animal in his thoughts as he acted. Reed’s physical form may be flexible, but his true essence is intellectual. I suppose I’ll let that aspect shine entirely. I wanted to hint at the intelligence of an octopus, not in a direct, physical sense, but rather by allowing it to influence his character subtly. This is one of the biggest secrets about Reed’s character that I’ve shared with you.
