The Peaky Blinders are returning! Though it seemed like Tommy Shelby’s story had reached its conclusion, and with creator Steven Knight focusing on new projects like A Thousand Blows and the next James Bond film, many fans worried season 6 would be the last we’d see of the show.
Netflix is extending the story of Peaky Blinders with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, starring Tom Hopper. The film recently premiered in some theaters and will be available to stream on Netflix starting March 20th.
While we’ll see some beloved characters from the original Peaky Blinders, the new story, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, will also introduce some fresh faces – though not everyone from the past will be back. Get ready to meet the cast!

Which Peaky Blinders characters are back for The Immortal Man?
Without giving away too much, Cillian Murphy’s character, Tommy Shelby, was last seen riding away. Having previously fought in World War I, the new story, set during World War II, will force Tommy out of hiding when his son, Duke, finds himself in trouble.
Tommy won’t be the only character returning for the new season of Peaky Blinders. Stephen Graham revealed in October 2024 that he’s reprising his role as Hayden Stagg, the sharp-witted leader of the Liverpool dockworkers’ union.
He was officially confirmed to return in the same month as Sophie Rundle, who plays Ada Thorne. In the final season of Peaky Blinders, Ada became Tommy’s closest confidante, managing the legal aspects of the Shelby family’s business and hinting at a possible future in politics.
What to Read Next
Tommy’s facing more trouble than usual, but luckily, Packy Lee is returning as Johnny Dogs, his dependable right-hand man.
Ian Peck’s character, Curly, will likely share wise words about horses, and Ned Dennehy’s Uncle Charlie provides a supportive, father-figure presence for the increasingly smaller Shelby family.

Who’s new in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?
Barry Keoghan recently joined the cast of Peaky Blinders, but he’s stepping into an existing role. While his character was initially a mystery, fans correctly predicted he would replace Conrad Khan as Erasmus “Duke” Shelby, Tommy Shelby’s eldest, previously unknown son.
Rebecca Ferguson is preparing to return as Lady Jessica in Dune: Part Three, but she’s also taken on a secretive role as Kaulo. The trailer hints that Kaulo has knowledge about a character named Tommy. Meanwhile, Tim Roth joins the cast as Beckett, a new villain who attempts to manipulate Duke into a scheme that could benefit the Nazis.
With Tommy having stepped away, Duke is now running the Peaky Blinders and appears to be the only Shelby still operating in the area. He’s being closely supported by Elijah, played by Jay Lycurgo, who is new to the series but previously worked with Cillian Murphy on the Netflix show Steve.

Which Peaky Blinders characters are missing in The Immortal Man?
Honestly, one of the biggest things I’m bummed about with the new movie, The Immortal Man, is that it looks like Paul Anderson – who played Arthur Shelby – won’t be in it. Tommy and Arthur’s relationship was such a huge part of the show, and after he had a smaller role in the last season, it doesn’t seem like they’re bringing him back, which is a real shame.
Arthur isn’t the only Shelby family member who’s missing. While he did show up at the premiere of The Immortal Man, Harry Kirton’s character, Finn Shelby, is also nowhere to be found after his betrayal of the family in the last season.
Fans are speculating about potential returns for Finn and Linda Shelby in future spin-offs, possibly as villains. While Linda appeared briefly to support Arthur at the end of the series, Kate Phillips has revealed that plans for a larger role in the movie ultimately fell through.

Another big question is whether Tom Hardy will return as his popular character, Alfie Solomons, who seems to defy death. In June 2024, Hardy stated that Alfie will “definitely make an appearance,” but admitted he doesn’t know when – or even if – that will happen, saying he’s just speculating.
Since then, things have been calm, and Hardy has remained tight-lipped. When asked about it by Joe.ie in April 2025, he simply said he couldn’t comment.
Anya Taylor-Joy, another big name from Hollywood, appears to have finished her work on Peaky Blinders. Her character, Gina Gray, was featured in the last few seasons, but after her affair with Oswald Mosley became public and her husband, Michael Gray, couldn’t take control from Tommy, she left the UK and returned to the USA following Michael’s death.
Sam Claflin, who played Oswald Mosley, won’t be returning, even after his character masterminded a cruel deception and nearly tricked Tommy into suicide. Although the historical Mosley lived on during the period depicted in The Immortal Man, Claflin confirmed to Metro last year that he wouldn’t be back for revenge or any further appearances.

Daryl McCormack had a larger part in the final season of Peaky Blinders, taking over the role of Isaiah Jesus from Jordan Bolger. He’s notably absent from the official cast lists, but given that his character was a trusted ally of Tommy and Arthur, Duke could potentially explain what happened to Isaiah.
Joining the cast were two strong female characters, and while Aimee-Ffion Edwards seemed to have finished with the show, she surprisingly returned for the final season after initially suggesting her character, Esme Shelby-Lee, wouldn’t appear again. Some viewers believe Esme caused Tommy’s recent troubles, blaming her for bringing misfortune to the Shelby family after John Shelby died.
It seems Natasha O’Keeffe’s character, Lizzie Shelby (formerly Stark), is now free from danger after her divorce from Tommy. O’Keeffe previously shared with Country & Town House that it was difficult to say goodbye to the role, but suggested the split was final, explaining it took her time to move on from that period in her life.
Lizzie left Arrow House and the troubles surrounding the Shelby family, hoping to build a fresh start with her stepson, Charles. We sincerely hope she finds peace and happiness there.
Just finished watching Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man in theaters – it was awesome! And for those who missed it, or couldn’t make it to the cinema, it’s hitting Netflix on March 20th, so mark your calendars!
