Paul Anderson, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, will star in a new World War II movie called Fortitude. The film, directed by Simon West (who directed Con Air), is based on a real story and centers on British spies who used innovative tactics to deceive the Nazis and potentially alter the outcome of the war.
The film boasts an impressive cast alongside Anderson, including Matthew Goode, Ed Skrein, Jordi Mollà, Alice Eve, Michael Sheen, Art Malik, Lukas Haas, Adrian Topol, Emilio Sakraya, Freddy Carter, Ben Kingsley, and Nicolas Cage.
Deadline first reported the cast and the start of filming last September, and Anderson recently confirmed he’s still involved with a post on Instagram.

Anderson posted a photo of himself dressed as Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, along with an enthusiastic message.
Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery once said that understanding why you’re fighting is the key to turning chaos into control. He believed every soldier needs to understand how their individual efforts contribute to the overall goal.

He believed that if soldiers understood the overall goal, they would act appropriately on their own, making strict control unnecessary.
I just read about this new show, Fortitude, and it sounds amazing! Apparently, it’s based on the true story of these British Army guys, Dudley Clarke and Thomas Argyll Robertson, who basically tricked the Nazis during the war. They created this whole elaborate deception – fake armies, equipment, even a network of double agents – to completely mislead German intelligence. It’s wild to think about how they pulled that off!
The movie will include the story of Dusko Popov, a Serbian playboy and actual spy who many believe was the inspiration for Ian Fleming’s famous James Bond character.
Simon Afram penned the screenplay, while Joshua Levine served as historical consultant.
Paul Anderson, famous for playing Arthur Shelby Jr. in Peaky Blinders, recently explained why his character isn’t in the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
When asked about his character’s death in the show, Anderson told LADbible that there wasn’t much he could do about it and accepted it as part of the story. He said he was happy with how things played out and jokingly admitted his character wasn’t always kind, but that fans still seemed to enjoy him.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is now available to watch on Netflix.
