Peaky Blinders star lands next lead movie role in UK-set horror
As a devoted fan of captivating storytelling and exceptional performances, I can hardly contain my excitement for Kate Phillips’ upcoming role in “Black Noise.” Her portrayal of Linda Shelby in “Peaky Blinders” was nothing short of mesmerizing, and her current role in “Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light” further cements her status as a versatile actress.
Peaky Blinders star Kate Phillips has landed her next lead movie role in UK-set horror Black Noise.
In addition to starring Thomas Shelby himself (Phillips) from the series “Peaky Blinders”, director Simon Blake’s upcoming movie will feature Aidan Gillen as well. Aidan Gillen is not only an actor in “Peaky Blinders” but also a familiar face from the TV show “Game of Thrones”.
In the production titled “Black Noise“, the character played by Phillips, named Leda, attends a solemn dinner hosted by the wealthy Livingstone family, posing as a journalist, and it is described as an experience that borders on “hallucinogenic horror”.
As I covertly strive for justice, my motives veer apart from that of the Butler, whose heart beats with a thirst for retribution. In this intriguing tale, I embody Hector, the venerable patriarch of the Livingstone clan.
Joining the cast are Tom Mothersdale from “Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light,” Rebecca Calder known for her role in “I May Destroy You,” Michael Jibson famed for his work in “Last Night In Soho,” and Jeanie Hackman, recognized from “Brave New World.
As a passionate admirer, I’d describe Colette Delany-Smith’s production of Black Noise as a chilling tale that gradually transforms from an eerie unease into something ominous and unsettling. It builds up to a savage and primal climax that leaves you feeling disturbed yet captivated.
Simon’s visual style is abundant and evocative, filled with intricate details reminiscent of a fetish about food, nature, clothing, and the mind-bending potency of medicinal plants,” she commented (as reported by Deadline)).
Via this hallucinatory perspective, hidden evils from the past are unveiled, and retribution is dished out in chilling fashion. Our team is thrilled about our cast and eagerly anticipates crafting a horror experience that we believe will be distinctively ours.
Filming is due to begin this month in the UK.
In a striking turn of events, Phillips has portrayed Linda Shelby in the hit show Peaky Blinders, and at present, she can be seen on BBC’s Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, essaying the role of Jane Seymour.
Black Noise is yet to confirm a UK cinema release date.
