Peaky Blinders confirms another Duke Shelby recasting and Stranger Things star for new sequel series

Even though Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man came out just last month, news about the next Peaky Blinders series is already arriving, including the first announcements about who will be starring in it.

In October, Steven Knight, the writer and creator of the show, revealed plans for two more seasons. These will move the story beyond World War II and into the 1950s, focusing on the lives of a new group of characters in Birmingham.

The new series will connect to the original, featuring a prominent role for Erasmus “Duke” Shelby, the son of Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy). Exciting developments are planned for his character.

Jamie Bell, famous for his roles in Billy Elliot and All of Us Strangers, is the latest actor cast as the character. He follows Conrad Khan, who originally played the part in the BBC series, and Barry Keoghan, who took on the role for the film The Immortal Man.

Actor Caleb Bell will star alongside Charlie Heaton, best known for his role as Jonathan Byers in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Although Stranger Things recently finished its fifth and final season, Heaton has quickly landed a new role in another series.

I’m so excited to hear who else is joining the cast! Lucy Karczewski is fantastic, and I’m a huge fan of both Jessica Brown Findlay and Lashana Lynch. You might recognize Jessica from Downton Abbey and Lashana from No Time to Die – they’re both amazing in those roles!

The next chapter of Peaky Blinders, set a decade after World War II, will focus on the fierce and epic struggle to rebuild Birmingham.

The city offers incredible chances alongside serious risks. At the center of it all is Duke Shelby – he’s experienced, driven, and now more of a threat than ever before.

Steven Knight announced a new chapter for Peaky Blinders, set in Birmingham after the war, in the early 1950s. He is currently writing the script for the 26th James Bond movie, and shared the news in a statement.

We’re thrilled to have Jamie Bell join the cast as Duke Shelby, Tommy Shelby’s eldest son, alongside Charlie Heaton, who will also be a lead. Expect more cast announcements soon, as Peaky Blinders is back in production!

We don’t yet know if all five actors will be in both of the new shows that have been approved. Each show will have six episodes, each lasting an hour, and will be available on both the BBC and Netflix.

You can watch Peaky Blinders on BBC iPlayer and Netflix. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is also available on Netflix.
