Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has signed on to write the next James Bond movie.
The renowned screenwriter behind shows like “A Thousand Blows” and “SAS: Rogue Heroes” has officially signed on for the upcoming spy movie, hinting at an enhanced, powerful, and daring take on the James Bond narrative for enthusiasts.
I’ve always dreamed of doing this, and getting an invitation feels amazing! I’m really looking forward to diving right in.” (Said during a BBC Five Live Breakfast show appearance)
He mentioned that, given his longtime affection for the Bond series, he believes this connection might inspire him to create something fresh yet familiar, superior, powerful, and daring.
The upcoming James Bond film, yet to be named, is currently under production. Earlier this month, it was officially announced that Denis Villeneuve, famed for movies like “Dune” and “Blade Runner 2049”, will be directing the project.

The true identity of the upcoming James Bond actor remains undisclosed, even as speculation swirls around possible contenders. It appears that behind-the-scenes activity within the creative team suggests preparations are underway for an announcement in due time.
In February, there’s a significant shift happening in the James Bond series as the long-standing producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, are relinquishing their creative roles, passing the reins entirely to Amazon MGM Studios. This unexpected decision signifies a new beginning for the franchise.
Since 2022, Amazon has gained the privilege to disseminate the James Bond films, following its acquisition of MGM. However, as they take a step aside, Wilson and Broccoli continue to share ownership of the franchise with Amazon.

As a devoted Bond fan, I can’t help but reflect on the fact that Daniel Craig, the remarkable actor who breathed life into the iconic spy for five films, from Casino Royale to No Time to Die in 2021. When it comes to his successor, the talented star of Knives Out, Daniel Craig himself, has expressed indifference, stating he “doesn’t care” about who takes on the role next.
There were whispers that Aaron Taylor-Johnson might become the next James Bond, but during a recent red carpet event, he tactfully dodged questions about these rumors.
Later on, it was revealed that the Taylor-Johnson reports were false, according to a production insider who stated that the rumors had no basis in reality.
The James Bond series is available to stream on MGM+.
