Viewers who’ve seen the movie Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man now know how the Peaky Blinders story concludes, and which familiar faces appear – or don’t appear – in it.
During an interview with Digital Spy, Peaky Blinders creator and movie writer Steven Knight explained he doesn’t typically plan to add characters after the story is already developed. We asked if there were any characters he wished he could have included, but hadn’t found a place for, and he clarified that his writing process doesn’t work that way.

I don’t approach storytelling with a strict plan. It unfolds as I write, feeling more like a discovery process than a deliberate construction. The story itself seems to guide which characters appear and play a role,” Knight explained.
If you’re wondering why a character you like didn’t return in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, the reason isn’t the creator, Steven Knight – it’s simply what the story required. If you haven’t seen the film yet, that will explain it.

The movie certainly isn’t short on talented actors. Alongside Cillian Murphy, returning favorites Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne and Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg are joined by new cast members Tim Roth, Rebecca Ferguson, and Barry Keoghan, who takes over the role of Duke Shelby.
It’s incredibly rare, but every actor we initially approached agreed to join the film. Knight was thrilled with the cast, saying they’re some of the best performers in the world and a joy to watch.

Paul Anderson recently explained his absence from the film, but praised Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, calling it “amazing.” He admitted to being a little worried beforehand, but said they ultimately created a great movie.
Hopefully, this indicates the film delivers on the vision of its creators. Eddie Murphy explained to Digital Spy that the movie is intended as a thank you to fans, a way of rewarding their long-time support.
This show started as a small program on BBC Two years ago, and has gradually grown into the global success it is today. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of its fans, so this is really a thank you to them.
The Peaky Blinders movie, titled ‘The Immortal Man,’ is currently playing in some theaters and will be available to stream on Netflix starting March 20th.
