Rodríguez named English actor Harris Dickinson as her choice for DCU’s Batman.
In a conversation with The Movie Dweeb, a 35-year-old actress was inquired about whom she’d prefer to see play Batman in the DC Universe, considering her character’s tight bond with Bruce Wayne as depicted in the comic books.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, let me tell you about an actor who’s been stealing the spotlight lately – Harris Dickinson. You might know him as the co-star of Nicole Kidman in ‘Babygirl’. To my eyes, he embodies all the qualities that make Batman truly iconic. I believe he would absolutely nail the role!
In Babygirl (2024), an erotic thriller by A24, Dickinson is cast opposite Nicole Kidman as Romy. He’s also known for roles in the 2017 coming-of-age drama Beach Rats, the 2022 mystery drama Where the Crawdads Sing, and a 2023 psychological mystery series titled A Murder at the End of the World.
In the comic books, Sasha has a lengthy association with Batman, yet her role in Peacemaker Season 2 and the DCU is that of an A.R.G.U.S. agent. At some point in the comics, she takes charge of Bruce Wayne’s personal security. But in the Prime Earth storyline, Sasha is, indeed, employed by A.R.G.U.S. agency.
As the DC Universe keeps growing, the buzz surrounding who will play Batman is sure to escalate even further until an official word is released. In recent times, actors like Alan Ritchson, Brandon Sklenar, and Glen Powell have publicly shown interest in taking on this iconic role.
In their present form, all Batman Epic Crime Saga projects belong to the separate DC Elseworlds series. Therefore, Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman does not fall within the scope of the DC Universe.
Currently, a DCU Batman project titled “The Brave and the Bold” is underway, but as of now, there’s no confirmed release date for it yet.
