In Season 2 of Peacemaker, Chris unexpectedly ends up in Earth-X, a world that initially appears to be everything he’s ever wanted. However, Episode 6 shows that things aren’t as perfect as they seem, explaining the absence of People of Color in this reality and the implications for Adebayo, Harcourt, and the team.
Why people run after Adebayo in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6’s ending?
In episode 6, titled “Ignorance Is Chris,” Peacemaker finds himself in a seemingly ideal reality. This alternate Earth shows him a life where he’s celebrated as a hero, his father is loving, his brother Keith is still alive, and he has a genuine connection with Emilia Harcourt. For a brief time, Chris thinks he’s finally found the happiness he’s been searching for.
Problems soon arise when A.R.G.U.S. arrests Harcourt after finding drugs on her coat, leading Chris to step in. At the same time, Adrian Chase encounters another version of himself who became radicalized, having been influenced by Chris.
Everything changes when Adebayo goes for a walk. She’s met with angry stares and quickly finds herself chased through the neighborhood by people yelling at her simply because of her race and gender. This frightening experience proves what Harcourt had begun to suspect: there are no People of Color on this Earth-X.
The final scene of Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 6 shows Chris has ended up on Earth-X, a DC Comics world where the Nazis won the war. The Nazi flag, lack of diversity, and the way Adebayo is treated make it clear that this seemingly perfect life is built on widespread oppression and white supremacy.
Fans of DC’s Arrowverse may remember Earth-X from the 2017 crossover event, “Crisis on Earth-X,” which featured heroes battling evil, Nazi versions of themselves. Now, the series *Peacemaker* revisits this alternate Earth, using it to explore the difficult decisions made by the main character and hinting at a future storyline where his team might become a resistance group fighting for freedom.
